July 2, 2020All around pants
Whether hiking or every day, these are stable pair of pants. Very water repellant even after yrs of washing. Material is just suburb and long lasting. Easy to clean spills and spots and keep wearing them. The only issue is as I've lost weight. My size 36 has moved to 34. But they stretch and its incentive to keep it there.

I loves these pants wear them daily and have 5 pairs. Durable, comfortable, great for hiking or any activity, camping, shopping. The black pair I wear as a casual dress pant. Drys fast and providesUV protection.

March 8, 2020Great all-around pants
These are wonderful pants. They offer lots of stretch and the cut is flattering to my figure. The pockets are well placed and the stretch is excellent. I wouldn't change a thing.

January 1, 2020Light, dry, excellent movement
I've had these pants for about a year and I love them. Maybe the best attribute of these pants is the gusseted inseam--this is a design that prevents four seams from coming together at a sharp apex at the crotch. It's a mystery why all men's pants don't have this feature. So much more comfortable both during movement and at rest. Materials are great: very light, enough stretch,… read more stay dry all day and have been quite durable given what I've put them through. The water resistance is solid; first thing I did in these pants was spill coffee on them and the coffee rolled right off of and didn't absorb into the fabric. They obviously don't add any insulation, but they layer really well with long undies for winter ascents. A note on the fit: size down in the waist. In jeans I wear a 29-30in waist; I ordered these in 28 and they fit perfectly. Although I've used these for quite a bit of climbing and have loved them, the picture makes the lower leg appear tapered when it is actually quite straight. I appreciate this when I need the pant to fit over boots, but if you like to climb with a form fitting calf/ankle, just be aware that this pant does not offer that.

July 25, 2019They have changed
These are truly the only pants my husband wears. They perform well on the rivers he works on, he can layer underneath them in the winter, and they transition well to around town. The flexibility of waist size and length have been amazing and meant that we havenâÂÂt had to spend time hemming pants and taking them in. That being said, he has been ordering the 28âÂÂ… read more waist short version of these pants for a few years. We just ordered a few more and the sizing has certainly changed. The new pair when compared with his old ones of the same size, are more than an inch longer and the waist does not fit as snuggly as the old pair (see pictures.) HeâÂÂs keeping the pants, but itâÂÂs certainly a bummer since we thought weâÂÂd found the perfect pants for him for years to come.

I'm sure these pants have great quality, but the actual pants have much wider legs than the picture would suggest. I was really hoping for a nice slim fit, but these things felt like bell bottoms compared to most fits nowadays.

May 5, 2019My new favorite pants!
I recently moved to Hawaii working in the construction industry. The average days run from 65F-85F with 70%+ humidity and can be quite uncomfortable in standard denim pants. I picked up a few pairs of these pants to give them a try based on aesthetics (office & field work), durability (have to withstand daily abuse), and comfort (SWASS!) Aesthetically, these are some of the best… read more looking synthetic pants on the market. They have a slender profile while also accommodating an athletic build (30" waist, 29" inseam, 22" thigh, 16" calf plus leather boot top). Other pants were either un-shaped cylinders or overly aggressive with cuts and colors. Speaking of colors, I bought 1 pr of khaki, 1 pr of black, and 2pr of grey. The khaki is great in my free time but didn't jive with my work-ware tops. The black was too black and I returned them since they looked like they would show too much dirt/staining. The greys are fantastic. Dirt and dust blends in but easily washes out. Aesthetically - 10/10. Durability - I'm a pretty no frills kind of guy. The same pair of pants that I start my week with, I end my week with. That means the pants typically go 5 days in a row without washing. I also work around dirt, rock, concrete, grease, oil, and steel. There are lots of abrading surfaces as well as sharp metal that tends to snag, rip, or tear anything that drifts across it. So far, so good. Rain and drizzle bead right off. Oils have washed off without any pretreatment. These pants have been bulletproof without even a loose thread end so far! -10/10 Finally, comfort, the most important characteristic. What can I say? These pants rock! Pun intended and so, so deserved. The weak link in my functional wardrobe is no longer my pants. My back might be sweaty but my nether-regions are not! If I take my junk out of my pockets, I can even feel the A/C vents in my truck blow through some cross-ventilation. Summary - I love these pants. If I can find (2) more pair of 30/short in grey, I would buy them in an instant. Based on wear and tear exhibited so far, I'm expecting my first (2) pair to last me at least a year wearing them 5 days/wk on alternating weeks.

March 7, 2019Great Pant Too Big
I picked these guys up to use for spring, summer, fall activities. Overall they are well designed and really comfortable. I also like how simple they are laid out. Unfortunately though I am typically in between a 32-34 waist size and neither the 32 or the 33 fit well. Compared to other Marmot pants I usually wear a 34 and these just seemed to run a bit large on me. Otherwise though… read more these pants seem to be a great light/med weight pant for warmer weather adventuring.

February 25, 2019Sweet pants brah
Purchased these pants to do some climbing and so far the performance is top tier. I bought them for a friend, tried them on to see how they fit, and now they are mine. What they don't know can't hurt them.

February 9, 2019Decent Pants
I got these pants a few months ago and have used them a few times at my local climbing gym. Very comfortable pants, and the stretch is a must. They are definitely not slim by any means, though. They are fairly baggy, despite what the pictures suggest. If that is okay with you, I do think that they are a good value for the price. All around still a quality pair of pants that I will… read more continue to wear!

February 2, 2019Excellent Pants
I've only worn these a few times, so I can't speak to durability, but so far these are awesome. They're really light and offer excellent freedom of movement, which makes them perfect for climbing. I also paired them with long underwear and took them up an alpine winter hike in single digits with 60mph winds and they felt great. I don't think they advertise being wind-proof,… read more but I was very comfortable spending hours above tree line in pretty gnarly conditions. One of my first acts in these pants was to spill some gatorade on my lap, and it rolled right off and left me dry. Throughout any activity, you can count on these to stay dry, which is crucial in a cold weather hike. The pockets have substantial capacity and the zip pocket was valuable when I wasn't wearing a jacket with pockets, but wanted to have a phone secured and within reach for pictures. To boot, they look good enough to wear to bar after a long day outside. They do run a touch big, so even though I tend to wear 29-30in waste in jeans, I ordered these in 28 and they fit great.

January 6, 2019Excellent fit
Have been looking for a good trail pant that could double for climbing or just kicking it around. These pants are definitely all three, for me. At 5’10” & 185 lbs, I have an... athletic... backside. I rarely find jeans or pants in the “trendier” fits, that work for me. Regular “dad” fit is my cross to bear. That said, neither Patagonia nor Craghoppers have worked for… read more me. The craghopper was OK but only because of the highly elastic inner waistband, and we’re tight in the crotch and thighs which has less stretch. I couldn’t even get the Patagonias all the way up, which is a shame because they seemed, as is anything I purchase from patagonia, extremely high quality. These marmots probably do run a bit large in the waist and backside, as others have said, but that works very well for me. The back pockets are large, true, as others pointed out, but Again, I typically throw my license, credit card, and granola bar in the zip pocket and take off if I’m ever doing anything where I may be at risk of losing anything that would have been in my back pocket. Big fan of these so far.

November 8, 2018Solid Pants
These are the first pants I've bought from Marmot and I'm definitely not disappointed. They do run just a little bit large but not enough to make a huge difference. I ordered a 32, which is what I usually wear, and they still fit great. Light, breathable and stretchy. Great hiking or climbing pants.

September 7, 2018Good pants
First climbing-related pants I've bought. Great quality. Hardly (if at all) notice them while climbing. Very light and breathable. They do run slightly large. Depending on the pants, I'm either a 32 or a 33. Have a 32, no need for a belt and they don't slide down ever. Would recommend.

September 6, 2018Cool pants, but NOT slim fitting
Bought these b/c several reviews said they are slimmer fitting pants. I'm 6'2", 160lbs. These are really baggy. I'll stick with the prana stretch zions (still the greatest pants ever).

August 16, 2018Definitely runs large
Iâm normally a 30x30 and bought the 30/Reg. I measured the waist myself and it seems to be a 32in waist. See photo below.

August 8, 2018Very nice pants!
My husband really liked these pants . The only reason he did not give it a five star is he wished it had more stretch to the material like some of the other hiking pants he have.

August 7, 2018Great pants
I was very impressed with these pants. The Arch Rocks definitely run longer in length than most pants do so I had to size down from a large to a short. I've tested them out with bouldering and sport and they react well to the movements needed for both.

May 12, 2018Very nice pants
I'm not a climber, but I have a job that requires a fair amount of unrestricted movement, sometimes at a moment's notice. So...the size was on the money. 36 Long was a generous 36 waist and 34 inseam. The fit was slightly looser than I expected, but not "relaxed." Maybe the most crossover-casual of my climbing pants. The Urban Jungle color was fine. I was afraid it might be gaudy… read more or unnatural but far from it. I've worn them in 80 degree temps and they were comfortable. It does get to be 95 here so I have my doubts about that. I'm giving them 4 out of 5 for relative lack of stretch. They are nowhere nearly as elastic as Zions, Quandrys or Ferrosis. The gusset, knee darts and fit still made up for the slight rigidity. If stretch is not crucial to you, these stack up with any of them. They were a good addition to the stable, and I would add another pair, especially if they added a stone, taupe or very light khaki. As it is, I'm all full up in blue, grey, green and tan. A solid purchase.

October 21, 2020Do these pants have a zipper on the bottom of the legs to allow for better fitting over a boot?
