Mammut Pro Protection 35-45L Airbag 3.0 Backpack reviews and deals for sale

Made for those who spend most of their ski days in the backcountry, the Mammut Pro Protection Airbag 3.0 Backpack has a lighter airbag design, more convenient carry system, and all the features you'd expect in a pack constructed for professional mountain guides. The Protection Airbag System 3.0 has a unique design intended to keep your head above the snow, and to protect your head, neck, chest, and torso from the trauma that can result from being strained through rocks and trees when caught in a slide. Unlike traditional top and side airbag designs, the Protection opens around your upper body to concentrate flotation above and behind your head, and help keep you facing uphill and above the snow. Since it surrounds your head and neck and covers large parts of your torso, it also reduces the likelihood of serious trauma to those areas.

Finally, please remember that this airbag system isn't a guarantee that you'll survive an avalanche. Get educated, get the right tools, travel with partners, and be smart out there.

Super Comfortable Light Pack + an Airbag

This pack is a great ski touring pack. I work in the backcountry on my skis 5 days a week all winter long. Before this airbag pack, I used to only use my airbag pack when the avalanche danger was elevated because my airbag was not that comfortable, it was heavy, and it was hard to get all of my stuff into. Since I got this pack I started wearing it every day because it is one of read more the best-skiing, most comfortable packs I have ever owned. It is a great pack that happens to have an airbag. With the lighter airbag system, it makes it easy to carry. The tool pocket is great and easily holds my shovel, probe, and snowsaw. The main compartment of the pack is big enough for all of my stuff: repair kit, first aid kit, warm down jacket, food, water, skins, snow study kit, hard shell, and I can still also put my helmet inside if I want to (I like keeping snow off my helmet) or I can use the helmet flap on the outside. It has a great googles pocket and a spot for my keys and wallet. When I have to strap my skis to the pack it is easy to do and it carries the added weight like a champ. With an airbag pack, you have to wear the leg strap and they only work if you have access to the trigger before you need it. So I just always ski with the leg strap connected and the trigger out. Some of my favorite features: * Super comfortable to carry and it skis really well. * Easy to get all of my stuff in and out of the pack with just the right number and size of pockets. * Relatively light for a pack that also has an airbag in it. * Easy to carry skis and handles the added weight great. * Quick access to a hip belt pocket for snacks and other things you might need while moving * I like the potential for increased protection from trauma if I ever have to deploy the airbag - hopefully I won't ever need to use it!

Does this pack come ready-to-go with a airbag cartridge? Doesn't say anywhere. Thanks!
