Mammut Ophir 3 Slide Harness reviews and deals for sale
The Mammut Men's Ophir 3 Slide Harness might seem simple due to its inexpensive price, but it's actually highly innovative to keep you comfy whether you're climbing rock or ice. Split Webbing technology separates the webbing into two strands that ride over and under your hips in order to reduce weight, increase ventilation, and decrease the necessity of padding without hindering your comfort or safety. Three Slide Block buckles offer a securely ideal fit, and adjustable leg loops let you put the harness on or off with crampons on. Mammut also equipped this harness with four gear loops for convenient organizations, a tie-in protector for excellent longevity, a Drop Seat buckle for bathroom breaks on big walls, and a high-strength haul loop for bringing heavy loads up long routes. All these features only add up to less than a pound, to keep your harness light and you psyche level high.

May 28, 2018Good cheap light duty harness
Solid, inexpensive harness, more than adequate for gym climbing and light duty bolt clipping (what it's meant for.) If you plan to do much multipitch, trad, or projecting, look elsewhere. Gear loops are tiny and it's pretty uncomfortable to hang in.

March 3, 2018No complaints!
Its a great harness and I use it everytime I go to the gym. Its lightweight and gets the job done. I would say its overall comfortable and no that noticeable when you're wearing it. Stoked to take it outdoor climbing in the spring

October 5, 2017Harness to go steady with
Mammut packs a ton of features into a very affordable and quality harness. I've been using this as my main for 2 years now with no plans on replacing. From granite multi pitch to laps at the gym, it's held up to the elements, sweat, chalk, and gym bags. The fit was spot on almost out of the bag, with a quick leg strap adjustment and I was hand jammin' in Indian Creek. The gear loops… read more are wide and stable enough for easy access to pro. The split webbing is comfortable both under load and walking around the crag. One word to describe this piece of gear; value.

September 5, 2017That sizing.... :-(
I bought it (size small) to replace an old, retired BD momentum (size small) harness. I really wanted to love this harness. liked the split webbing, lightweight, value etc. At 5'7", 150lbs, 31" waist with strong skiers tights, I ordered a small. The legs loops fitted perfectly, but the waist was too tight with 3" gap between the ends of the padding and it felt off . So I decided… read more to return it. Interestingly, I was able to try a medium size in a store: waist was perfect but the legs loops way too loose... so that would not fit either.

May 15, 2017Perfect First Harness
This is the first harness I ever bought and it has done me nothing but good. From single pitch Top Rope Climbing to Multi-pitch Trad Climbing it has been able to pull its weight, especially for the price point.

February 16, 2017Great Bargain
I bought this harness as a back up harness in case I ever go climb with someone that doesn't have one. I have the Mammut Togir Light which I would recommend over this one but over all I still don't think this is a bad choice at all. I did a few lead climbs at the gym to try it out and I have no complaints at all! It's comfortable and gets the job done. The togir is a little less… read more noticeable while climbing if you're willing to spend a little extra though.

January 10, 2017Comfort and Affordable
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend - he says: It looks good, and is comfortable especially compared to the old gym harness I was using before this. It's a great beginner/intermediate harness - not too many frills but comfortable and gets the job done.

November 23, 2016Look rad and be comfortable
I've been using this harness for years and it is holding up great. Its comfortable and has enough adjustability to cinch during summer climbing or over heavier clothes.

October 20, 2016Comfortable and practical
The value of the product outweighs the price tenfold. The gear loops are canted forward which helps bring any gear into easy reach. Belay loop is sound. Plastic tie-in spots are great. Harness is comfortable to the point of forgetting to take it off walking my dog around the crag. 45 out of 5 stars.

September 23, 2016Perfect Harness
Bought this on a whim so I didnt have to rent one at the gym. Ended up loving it, and others loved it so much we now have a whole group of us who purchased these harnesses to climb in. Feeling very fortunate that this was my whim purchase!

July 4, 2016Solid Harness
This is my first personal harness, and I bought it based on the price and reviews. The fit is really good, I bought the small. I personally have a small waist and larger thighs, and this harness fits perfect. The slide bloc buckles hold tight, it never loosens even a little. It's a solid, comfortable harness, made by a great company. Make sure to check the size chart before buying.… read more

It fits and at no cost to comfort. I've taken it out to the local climbing gym where it performs just as expected.

April 4, 2016Got stolen, had to buy it again!
Some punk stole my pack and this harness was in it, karma is real and it will come around. But i love this harness so much that i shelled out again to get it. I love the tie in protector on the bottom part that keeps the nylons fresh - The best part about this harness is how close the gearloops sit towards the front. It's really easy to access your gear!

November 27, 2015Favorite harness of all time
This harness has absolutely blown any other harness I’ve used out of the water. Everyone knows the feeling of finding the perfect fit in a harness and this one has done it for me. It’s great for anyone who may have larger legs and a smaller waist. Aside from the fit, I feel absolutely secure and comfortable when I’m wearing this. I’ve taken a few falls and feel like it will… read more hold up for many more. The indication feature is a great addition so you can visibly see when it’s time to replace the harness. I feel that this harness stands up against many of the more expensive ones out there.

November 9, 2015Awesome harness at an awesome price
Even though this is the first harness I buy, i've been using other harnesses for both indoor climbing and rock climbing. Having said that, i must say i really like the ophir 3. Even thougth its ligthweigh desing, it has a very comfortable fit, not only when climbing, but also when belaying or resting. It's also pretty comfortable when rappeling or hanging. Anyway I must say i'm… read more not a heavy guy (145 lb / 5'9 / 30" waist / size S). I guess it won't work as well for heavier guys but for me it's superb.

October 31, 2015Sizing is perfect
I have a hard time finding harnesses that fit. If you have a smaller waist and muscular legs this is a good choice, you don't end up having to get a waist that is oversized to get proper fitting leg loops. The leg loops also have a good bit of adjustability if you are going to wear some thicker clothing. I tried on just about every harness out there and this fit better than any… read more of the Arc Teryx, Petzl and Black Diamond harnesses

October 29, 2015Booty holder
This is my first climbing harness and I love it. i have used it for a few months now. It works the way its intended.. I can tell it's well built and will last a long time. I am a 32 waist and i went with the size large. It is little on the big side which I like since it makes it easy to fit my biker thunder thighs to fit in.

September 22, 2015Awesome, but disagree with the sizing.
I love this harness. It's comfortable to wear and easy to adjust. I just wish I'd bought the large instead of the medium. I have about a 32.5 inch waist so I'm borderline but generally wear a medium in things that don't have specific sizes. Large would definitely fit better in this case. Despite that, it fits "well enough" and is still comfortable. Your mileage may vary… read more on the sizing, but it's a great harness regardless.

January 28, 2016Is there a way to clip ice clipper biners to this harness? Like the BD Ice Clipper or Petzl Caritool?
