Great for Climbing & Hiking

I bought this with the intention of mainly using it for multi-pitch climbing - it can fit a 2liter bladder, snacks, a lightweight jacket, headlamp, & the occasional camera. The separate water sleeve is very nice. I prefer to pack as minimally as possible, specially when I have to awkwardly squeeze myself into a crack. I've tried climbing with other packs (Osprey, Cotopaxi) and felt read more that they were just a little bulky for someone with my frame. This pack is also great for hiking, but the front pocket may not be the most waterproof/water-resistant. If you're looking for an all day crag pack that needs to be able to carry a kitchen sink, look elsewhere. If you wanna pack light and efficiently, get this pack!

Gifts for a new climber

Little smaller so that he can throw a few items in, but still get that required few things to the gym to get climbing. My brother loved it!

Go-to Multipitch Pack

This pack rules. I made the mistake of only bringing my Tempest 30L on my last six-pitch chimney climb and that was the most uncomfortable I had ever been climbing. I usually climb multipitch with a fanny pack or my Patagonia Atom, but now that my climbing partner and I are moving onto much longer and harder climbs, I knew I had to get something climbing specific. The size of read more this is perfect. We climbed a three-pitch chimney/off-width climb on Saturday and I forgot I had this pack on. It's super lightweight and the inner loops helped to keep extra draws and carabiners organized and easy to get to. I was able to store essentials needed for climbing, including snacks, two liters of water, a first aid kit, and an extra layer for when it got too cold for me. I clipped my shoes and helmet to the outside, coiled my rope on my back and was off to the races. It also sits high enough for me to access my chalk bag and gear on my harness, which was also a huge problem with climbing with the Tempest. (There was a reason why I had to climb with it, I promise.) It's also super durable. It still looks brand new, even after having to shove half my body into a crack and legbar my way up. Highly, highly recommend this little bag for long days on the wall. It may even become my regular pack to bring since only essentials are needed.

Great size for a quick hike

Bought this for my wife for quick hikes and she's pretty happy with the size. Lots of compartments available to accommodate everything you need for a quick trip.

Small but Effective

I forgot how small 700 cu in is, but am quite pleased with the pack. It's small and light, and good to add some extra snacks and water for a longer climb, in addition to some extra gear you can attach. . Obviously limits what you can put in, but prevents you from loading up with too much. Great for a quick hike, a multi-pitch sport/trad climb, or anything else that might require read more a quick bag with goodies. I have the Black Diamond Bbee 11L, and this Mammut provides some more organization that the Bbee doesn't. Not super necessary for a pack this size, but helpful for keys and stuff to keep them out of the way. Not many pack options in this size with useful exterior attachment points. Update-Aug '19- Most usage while mountain biking, carries water bladder and snacks/tools like a pro for local, short rides.

Great Pack; Needs sizing options!

This pack seemed perfect for what I wanted to use it for. The pack seems to be very well made too. However, it is one size fits all (and that is pretty much never true!) and the fit is too big for me. I am a fairly small female and it is frustrating that we do not have nearly the options that are bigger brethren do when it comes to buying technical gear.
