Forget about the treeline—the Mammut Men's Magic High GTX Boot will take you above the clouds. This crampon-compatible alpine boot offers the support and weather protection needed for ascents into the alpine, all in a lightweight and comfortable package.

Base Fit 2.0 technology provides greater heel support for a more precise feel, less fatigue, and reduced blistering. Gore-Tex keeps you foot dry without suffocating it, while the EVA and PU midsole cushions your step as you cross jagged terrain and provides rebound to propel you forward. Memory foam at the instep, shin, and ankles eases strain and fatigue at common pressure points, and returns to its original shape after being subjected to heavy loads.

Great Mountaineering Boots!

Got these babies a couple months ago. Wore them around and did a couple short hikes in them to break them in. They're not too heavy either. Just did the Mount Adams Mazama Glacier this last weekend and they did great! My black diamond strap on crampons were solid in these boots. For a mountaineering boot, I was impressed with the comfort. Obviously, they're stiff so don't expect read more to be hiking in these for long periods off the snow surface. On the snow for kicking steps and ascending the glacier, I didn't have to worry about my footwear. I really like how you can tighten these in three separate zones. The toe box and lower foot can be set with the locking eyelets. From there, by tightening the next eyelet up with a surgeon's knot, you can lock in your heel. The last few eyelets set the ankle support. With this you can really have a custom fit. I ordered a half size larger and that was perfect. I'm normally a size 10 and ordered 10.5 for these. Planning to do Mount Baker, Glacier Peak, and Mount Sahale this year so I'm happy to have these in my gear arsenal. Great boot Mammut!

Amazing Boots

I've worn these boots for about 25 miles of spring hiking. Overall, I'm very impressed with the comfort and waterproofness of these incredible boots. They're a bit heavy (all mountaineering boots are) but they are comfortable on 8+ mile trail walks and they have kept my feet dry in truly miserable conditions. Spring in the mountains turns the trails into creeks and I can easily read more step in ankle deep water without a thought. Slushing through 5 miles of wet snow? No problem! I've been dealing with wet feet in "waterproof" boots for years, should have bought these ages ago. I sized up half a size and I'm glad I did.

How I feel about Magic

Most comfortable mountaineering boots I've ever put on. Just got them fresh out of the box and so excited to put them to use. The sizing is perfect. They're a little flexi at the ankle, which I like and have very solid soles & footbed. Thank you to the customer service reps who helped me decide which pair of boots to buy for summer glacier travel. Stoked!

Have boot will climb

After a good breaking period of 60+ miles over the months leading to my three days on Mt. Shasta last week, the Mammut Magic did everything I wanted it to do. Some fiddling with proper socks and a good breaking period and I have not had problems with the fit. And, I nearly always have problems with fit to due to various foot issues. From stream crossings, very wet snow conditions, read more some rock scrambling, even a little bouldering, the boot proved worthy. My feet are two greatly different sizes. Even so, I went up a half size from normal and even down a bit in sock thickness. Which proved spot on, warm enough, dry and comfy. Never got cold, never got wet, never even sweated once I had the correct sock combo of thin liner and moderate sock thickness. Upon returning home, the boot shows little signs of having been worn after plenty of miles and three days of snow and rock scrambling on Shasta. Thank you Backcountry.com.
