An awesome all around shoe

These shoes are comfortable, supportive, grippy and well made. Although on the heavier side for running, they do the job while also being a fantastic hiking and backpacking shoe. This is the first pair of hikers I’ve had in many years that didn’t give me blisters or foot pain, even on big mileage days. They lasted well for three summers that included the teton crest trail and read more tour de Mont Blanc among other adventures. Highly recommend.

Positively Blue

This is my first pair or Sportiva trail running shoes and my initial impressions are positive. The shoes have a rugged sole that keeps you planted securely on the trail and I appreciated the toe cap that keeps me protected from potential collisions with rocks along the trail. I went one size bigger than my usual size as I like my running shoes to have enough room in the toe box. read more Overall I am very happy with these trail runners! The pretty color is a plus.

Comfy, runs slightly small (1/2 size)

"I chose these shoes because I wanted shoes that have enough structure to provide stability and support. They provide great cushioning when hiking on rocks and gravel, and they are very grippy on uneven terrain. The trade-off is that they are a little heavy and stiff. Definitely not the shoe for a minimalist fit."

Love these shoes

Hiked up to a climbing spot today in big cottonwood and didn’t feel a single rock on my precious feet. LOL! Felt so good to be in a comfortable reliable shoe! Thanks Nick for suggesting them!!

Love them

Great fit, grip, breathable, light, have other brands but will always wear these because they are so comfortable and 24 hours until feet get tired. I am an 8, but the 9 fit, ie 40.5. (my mom took the size that were too smalll for me. (Backcountry emailed right awat ro verify not an exchange ir error) I have narrow heals, wide forefront. I used to wear patagonia drifters but no longer read more make, tried some salomons, speedcross too tight in tows, extremely sweaty since waterproof but great cushion and support, ultra low fits great but cushion and support inferior to la sportive, brooks fit way off, merrill toes too narrow and no cushion or arch is wrong for me, keen heels too big and arch feels way off but very cushy. No heel loop and toungue was weird at first, fine now, may have been squashed. Less odorous then other shoes. Buying another pair and am going to try and stock up in case discontinued

I've gotten so many compliments

These shoes kick butt. I originally bought them to be a work shoe but they're not quite meant to walk on concrete for 8 hours a day. They do love the local trails though. They were a bit small so you may want to order a size up, especially if you want to wear thick socks.

love this shoe!

Sturdier than most trail runners. A plus for rocky & rooty terrain. Comfy right out of the box. Plenty of toe box room-even for a wide foot. Bottom is super grippy. Runs small-I normally wear a 7.5 sneaker & a 39.5 is my size. My only complaint is the tongue & top of shoe is slightly taller than other shoes making it uncomfortable if tied too tight.

Great Trail Shoe

I got these shoes as a transition from running shoes. I usually walk quickly through the woods but also was looking for a shoe that I could use on easier, shorter trail hikes or for jogging, I needed better traction than Fresh Foam New Balance Shoes. These shoes seem to fit the bill very well. They have great grip and make it slightly easier walking uphill. The sole is a bit read more stiff compared to running shoes, but I sure like the feel on the trail. They were 1/2 size smaller than my New Balance Running Shoes and they fit really well-I have a narrow heel and this brand is great for my foot type. I wear the same size in my LaSportiva Hiking Boots that I also love.

Runs small

These run way smaller than expected -- usually size 9 is a bit on the large size (I'm pretty squarely between 8.5 and 9) so it seemed like going with a 40.5 would be a safe bet. Nope! Toes were crowded both on the sides and touching up front. Admittedly, I have a fairly wide forefoot, but was somehow expecting these to be wider. Otherwise, though, they felt pretty good -- supportive read more and firm, like they'd be great for high-mileage types.

Love them!

I bought them last minute and didn't have a chance to really break them in before taking them to Zion. I used them for Angel's Landing, the Narrows and Observation Point. My feet felt great! They felt very comfortable and my footing felt secure. They're light and shock absorbent. Stock was limited so I was not able to order half a size up as I normally do on any trail shoe. I would read more totally recommend doing so for this shoe. It's very true to size so if you're trying to wear a thick sock, you'll feel a very snug fit. I bought them in blue and wasn't too excited about the color but once I received them, the blue is a bit different and I really liked it. Totally recommend this shoe.

Loving these shoes

I loved the shoes, very comfortable, give excellent support to the ankle, very safe, are excellent for the mountains, have dual purpose for running in street and mountain, design and colors are perfect.

Halfdome hikers

These shoes are great. I initially bought them for the vibrum sole for a half dome hike but have since used them on numerous hikes and trail runs. They are light weight, easy to get into, and easy to lace up. Plus, the color is beautiful!

Love the shoe

Sizing was not easy. I wear a women's 8 B. I ordered that size, too small, traded for the 8.5 -- okay, but not enough room for the toes with thick socks and extra room needed for a workout shoe. I'm going to exchange for the 40.5, a 9. They are a nice rugged shoe. Love how the heal feels so stable.

Ready to Fly?

These shoes are awesome. They are lightweight, but super supportive.. and the heel technology launches you step after step.. and shock absorption is right! They stay comfortable all day, and I have never seen a blister or a cramping foot after any long hikes! I pronate slightly, and these shoes keep me in line always! I use them for trail running and double them as an approach read more shoe since the rubber on the bottom is so nice. The toe protection has also saved me a number of times. Overall, I highly recommend these shoes. The only thing I would further suggest is trying them on first.. I always wear a 9, but with these trail runners, I did have to size up to a 41 (9.5). Many others have found them to fit perfectly true to size. You'll want a bit of wiggle room so your feet can expand and for your toes to stay safe!

Be ULTRAfast

Just bought these running shoes to replace an old pair of new balances. These are so much lighter and I feel like I can run for ages. They provide great stability on the trails and are super comfortable on my feet. I have had issues in the past with my heels, but my heels are fully protected in these shoes and I have not had any issues with getting blisters. Definitely recommend read more for other trail runners out there.
