The Perfect Fit

I know this a Women's PFD but I used this PFD professionally as a Sea Kayak Guide for almost 8 years. The extra foam breaks in the front of the PFD help provide a more comfortable fit compared to the Men's version. The pockets in the front are functional for a Radio and navigational items I needed for trips and a snack bar. I agree with past reviews that I would not take this PFD on class 4 or 5 rivers and would switch to my White Water Rescue PFD, but for sea kayak environments it's perfect!

I wear Kokatat when paddling my Jackson Kayak through anything from Class 1 to Class 3 rivers.

Great Fit

Bought this for my wife, Awesome for rafting...tons of pockets: she loves them for sunscreen, chapstick, etc when we're on the river. Good fit and floatation. Also fits dudes!

Great PFD for the guide/instructor

I love minimalist PFDs for my personal daily paddles. However, working as a guide and instructor or on expeditions I need access to more gear. This PFD is LOADED with great pockets for all the stuff that I need immediate access to. Though the PFD is labeled "Ms.Fit" I know most of my male guide/instructor buddies use this PFD. Double thumbs-up!

I love my MsFit Tour

I just ordered and received my second MsFit. I do not find it overly bulky esp for rafting or inflatables (or even hardshell paddling which i do less often). while the front flotation panels are more or less the same thickness as the mens' models, there are two separate articulated panels on each side of the chest which allow the vest to curve around our curves. (and re a previous… read more reviewer objecting to the thickness in the front--- keep in mind --- thickness=flotation, flotation in the front of a vest helps keep our face up, and for the most part generally flotation is our river friend). the PFD also has a considerable range of adjustment on the shoulder straps, to accommodate differences in torso lengths. the side straps have a good range of adjustment. I have a short torso and upper body curves, and find this to be a great vest with good flotation. the pockets on the newer model vest i just received has better placement than my older model and i really like the new placement for the knife lash tab. I went paddling with 2 friends this week and all three of us had on our (river tested and well-loved) MsFit Tour .

Rafting vest

This is my rafting vest. It is not a rescue vest, so if im running class 5 i switch to my beafy vest -astral aquavest- but for my guiding season this is my choice vest. super comfy, i dot find it bulky at all. It is a little high profile for hardshell kayaking. But rowing a gear boat or paddle captaining it is everything i want. Tons of pockets, i keep a wrap kit in my pockets,… read more leatherman, knife, chapstick. And the clipping pocket on the chest is the perfect size for a can of beer on those private trips. It is easy to get on an off. You can keep it on when scouting rapids in the heat of the summer with fhe zipper undone, but the clips still zipped.

Bulky

I'm so glad I ordered three kinds of Kokatat PFD's to try on in person: 1. Bahia Tour Personal Flotation Device 2. OutFit Tour Personal Flotation Device 3. MsFit Tour Personal Flotation Device - Women's This Women's PFD was unnecessarily bulky. I suppose this has to do with body shape as well. I don't have a full chest on top, so if these were designed with extra room on… read more top, they would have served me no purpose. The sides of this PFD was not padded, but for some reason, it still felt bulky to move around in. I have not tested this out on water, since I ended up returning this product. I kept the OutFit at the end, but I would still recommend getting the various PFD's, including this one. Try them to decide which one you feel most comfortable in. For reference, I am 5'2, 118 lb, and I ordered a size Small.

Great Women's PFD

I tried on a lot of PFDs before deciding on the MsFit. It was the most comfortable by far. Well made, with generous pockets and a knife lash tab in the perfect location. Of all the PFDs I've used over the years, this one is my favorite.

Should rename it Misfit

Who designed this? I compared it to the men's version to see where the women's specific cut is... It's bizarre. The men's has padding the same thickness all around. Instead of thinner padding across the top front (you know, where our boobs are) the MsFit has thinner padding at the sides from top to bottom. In the pictures you can see the front is made of two panels that zip in the… read more center, then there's a side seam where the front panel meets the side panel that has the zippered pockets (the reflective part ends in that seam). The padding cutouts are not in front, they're in under that front-side section. Why?? If you can sling your boobs to the sides and out the arm holes, you'll love this PFD... otherwise, return it like I am. (another thought is that if you are thicker around the middle, whether female or male, this might be an option for you) I am 36D, with largest chest measurement of 38.5". I tried both the S and M. I found the S too small and the M too big. Quality-wise it seems well-made. The pockets and reflectors are good. The flap over the knife lash and chest buckle under the zipper are nice touches. Shoulder "padding" is articulated stiff pieces. Looks more protective than the usual soft stuff.

What is the weight of this vest? I'm going to be packrafting with it and just wondered how much weight it will add.
