Good Customer service

Klymit Insulated Static V Luxe Sleeping Pad . I love this pad. it inflates easy. I have had trouble with 1or 2 holding air and they are sending a third one to me. Its very comfortable and the size is very nice for a grown man. My wife has the smaller version. I recommend not filling these to the brim with air, maybe 90 %? I have only used mine on a cot so I can not comment on ground read more usage. I do not carry it in a pack.

Warm and comfy!

Took this down to southern Utah in November, when the nights were hitting mid-20s F. It's super easy to inflate and deflate, comfortable to sleep on (as a side-sleeper), and I did not get cold. I really shouldn't subtract a star for it not fitting with my Big Agnes sleeping bag sleeve, so I won't, but that was my biggest issue.

Can't Go Wrong

I'm a big Klymit fan. I've used their sleeping pads for years but never upgraded to the insulated version but it's definitely a game-changer. Even with my regular Static-V, I've always put a blanket or something underneath to prevent cold transfer from the ground to the pad since I'm a naturally cold person and will freeze to death in the night if I don't take these peventative read more measures. Insulation on this is a game-changer. I no longer have to worry about bringing something extra to put underneath since it's essentially built in. I used it with nothing underneath and did not experience any cold transfer from the ground, stayed warm all night. The shape of these pads is also great as they support movement during the night and are great for sleeping on the side, stomach, back, any and all of it.

Side Sleeper Must!

My boyfriend wasn't much of a camper before me. So I've teaching him the ways of the outdoors. One thing he really struggles with is sleeping pads and sleeping bags. Due to being a side sleeper. Got him this pad. AND HE NEVER COMPLAINED AGAIN! He actually referred it to sleeping in a hotel, but better. Now he is able to get comfortable fast. Doesn't have to toss and turn at night. read more And is well rested for the adventure that lays ahead of us in the morning!

Luxury Pad

This is a great pad for those who aren't willing to sacrifice comfort for weight while camping. It is super comfortable and packs down to 5.5x10 and weighs 2 lbs 3 oz. Great for backpacking or car camping. The insulation is clutch and will allow you to bring fewer layers and use a warmer rated sleeping bag.

Awesome pad for warmth, length, and comf

Borrowed this pad for my brother in law who is a bigger person than average so he could be warm, comfortable and not slip off. He had nothing but good things to say! Packs down small (which is awesome for a larger pad), easy to assemble, just takes a bit longer to assemble then my other pads, but for the size it worked great for camping!

Packs Small, Yet Still Super Comfortable

I am a side sleeper, so I need sleeping pads with a little extra thickness so that I can't feel the ground. My previous pad was a mummy style, which got annoying because my legs would always end up off of the pad and on the ground during the middle of the night. The larger, rectangle shape of this pad is so much nicer and more comfortable! I also could not feel the ground underneath read more me at all, and I slept soundly on this pad every night. I tend to run cold when I sleep, and I noticed that I did not stay as warm with this pad as I do with my other ones. I think this may have something to do with the "chambers". I'm not sure I would use this during the winter, even though it is described as a 4 season pad. I definitely would use this as my 3 season pad though. But if you don't get cold easily, then I think you could definitely get away with using this during the winter. This thing packs down small and feels pretty lightweight, yet still allows you to sleep on a "luxurious" sleeping pad.

Upgrade!

I bought the Klymit Static V2 in April and loved it but wanted something a little wider and warmer for the fall and so far this has been great. More comfortable than the static V2 due to the extra 1/2 inch of thickness. I also don't feel like I am going to roll off of it at night which was the point of the purchase. It still packs down super small and is easy to inflate!

Great for all seasons

Packs small, but has a larger surface area when fully blown up than average. Comfortable and kept me warm and insulated from the cold desert sand on a recent trip. Because this pad is insulated and has air chambers, it is definitely a great option for all seasons. The v-chamber design is comfortable whether you are sleeping on your side, back, and stomach. Lastly, you don’t have read more to be perfect when packing it back up to fit it back in the bag. The only con is it takes a little while to blow up because of its large volume. It says 10-15 breaths but I believe that is based on a professional balloon clown, as it easily took me 20 deep, large breaths to get it fully inflated.

great

LOVE this pad. I haven't tested it in cold weather yet, but it has kept me warm into the 40s at night. It's super comfortable sleeping on my side, and the wider width feels luxurious.

Sleep Outside!!

Honestly got some of the best night's sleep I've ever had outside on this pad! I'm a slide sleeper that moves around a good bit at night so I bought the Luxe version for the extra room and I couldn't be happier with this pad. On warmer nights, the material on the top of the pad is soft enough to sleep on and use a sleeping bag as a blanket, and on colder nights the insulation really read more pays off.

Waste of Money

Backcountry was great with the shipping, but this mattress is garbage. I bought it based on the reviews, but listening to others was a mistake. I took this mattress camping for the first time yesterday. I inflated it in my tent, then went back to my tent four hours later to sleep on it, and half of the air had already escaped. I had to re-inflate it to sleep on it. I woke up in read more the morning with about 1/4 of the air left in it. Also, I paid extra money for the insulated version of this mattress that literally provided zero warmth whatsoever. Nothing. I should've bought a $4.00 pool float from Walmart and slept on that, instead of wasting $120.00 on this. How in the world did this get such good reviews? I wish I could get a refund.

Restful Night

I have only used mine twice, but both instances were in cold (sub freezing) weather and I felt like they did a solid job of separating me from the cold ground. I felt like it kept me off the ground well, and packs down nice and small. I am sold.

SLC

Skeptics can say what they want, but this pad is incredible! keeps me off the ground as I roll around (i'm a crazy sleeper) I never feel a rock in my back, I never got cold, and had plenty of pad to roll on. It's nice to wake up and still be on your bad because it stayed in place. It's an added bonus that they are a SLC company so I can support a local company.

Side Sleep like a BOSS!

As a Ranger with TheDyrt I'm often given the chance to review products and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this sleeping pad. I love backpacking, but when tent camping I often have trouble sleeping because I am a side sleeper. Typically, I start out sleeping good but when I try to switch to my side I get sore spots on places that are coming into contact with the ground. read more

Amazed at the comfort!

Being 5'9", the 76.5 inch length was more than adequate and the 30 inch width allowed me to do my normal tossing and turning without hitting ground. Fully inflated, the pad is a whopping 3 inches thick and extremely comfortable. Being so thick, I felt no discomfort when I was side sleeping. Something other pads fail at. I believe it has to do with the design as there didn't seem read more to be any air movement between the chambers when fully inflated. I read somewhere that it takes 50-60 breaths to fill it up but my experience was only 25-30. You'll be blowing in and not seeing much happening and then all of the sudden it's full. Not sure if you would be able to use a pump to air it up but don't know why you would. 25 puffs and lest than 2 minutes and it is fully inflated ready for sleeping. Deflation is as simple as releasing the valve and pressing the air out. The valves are very durable looking. I was inclined to try to "unscrew" them to open an close and that caused me some confusion in the beginning. It's more of a push/pull and a twist maneuver. Guess they expected me to be smarter that the pad!

Count sheep in comfort!

If you've been looking for a packable, insulated, monster pad...look no further than Klymit's Insulated Static V Luxe! As a review Ranger for TheDyrt.com, I get products to test and evaluate from time to time, so I was excited to receive the Klymit Insulated Static V Luxe at a substantial discount to test. I have been in the market and searching for over the past year for the read more best sleeping pad for my application. Lest you dismiss this review as biased and patronizing...as a result of the amazing comfort and features of this inflatable sleeping pad, I immediately purchased two additional identical pads for my wife and daughter. I've used several different sleeping pads over the past 30+ years of backpacking/paddling/camping, but desired wider, thicker, lighter and more packable. Being of average height and weight (6/185) many pads would "work," but I have a severe permanent low back injury...so comfort is King in my search. Klymit's claim that you can sleep on your side comfortably, is accurate. In fact, remarkably I was able to sleep on my stomach (not one of Klymit's claims). I prefer the "V" or chevron shaped air baffles, not only for what Klymit calls "body mapping," but I felt that air was able to circulate enough to eliminate sweating or sticking to the pad. The pad material is adequately soft and did not have the "crinkly" sound that I felt other manufacturer's pads used. I chose to sleep directly on the pad material and utilized my down bag like a quilt. The pad material offers enough of a profile that I did not slide off the pad when on terrain angles like I did on other smooth surface inflatable pads. I used the Klymit Insulated Static V Luxe pad over the past 50 days of camping from the panhandle of Florida, to the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas, to the high plains of NW New Mexico, to the Colorado Rockies, to the Appalachians of VA, WV, MD and PA...in every imaginable weather condition and temperature swing. The insulation worked perfectly below 30 degrees and wasn't an issue in 80 degrees. Inflation for any sleeping pad is part science and personal art form...but 19 deep puffs put Klymit's pad perfect for me...my wife desired greater inflation. With two inflation/deflation valves...the process went quick both ways. (I did cheat, at times, when car camping, using a battery operated Coleman Quick Pump to inflate, simply by mating the openings). Deflating is rapid, with the pad folding and rolling up to the size of a football. Klymit's size specifications are accurate. So keep this in mind (which I failed to do) when using two Klymit Insulated Static V Luxe pads in a 3 person tent. At 60" wide, the two pads took up every available inch of real estate from side to side in my tent, making it a 2 person tent very quickly. As a sidenote, this pad worked wonderfully in my double hammock too. I highly recommend the Klymit Insulated Static V Luxe, if you are desiring incredible comfort and durability, in a relatively small package.

Sleep that is great

I slept so great on this pad. the 3" 's of comfort. The pad rolled right back up to the same size and was surprisingly lightweight. I didn't have any problems slipping or rolling off. The pad was quite durable and I couldn't even feel any rocks while I slept.

The most recent model of this pad has an R value of 5 instead of 4.4. Is this the recent version with a 5 or the older model with the 4.4? Thank you.
