The 1/1 Trail S combines I9's 1/1 hub, which is modeled after the Hydra, but built up to be a little more pocket friendly, with the trusty Trail S hoops that provide reliable stiffness, power, and durability while you ride. Internally, the 1/1 bares some similarities to the Hydra and its predecessor, the Torch, but is ever so slightly less snappy, with 4-degrees of engagement, which still blows much of the competition out of the water.

The Trail rims used are the same you'll find in the higher-end builds, with lightweight construction, and a moderate 27-millimeter internal width that accommodates 2.2-to-2.5-inch tires, finding the balance between reduced rolling resistance and plush control in corners.
