Comfy fit, Not Baggy, Cooling A++

Went day hiking in Carolina Sandhills National Nature Preserve in 80+ degree heat and high humidity. This shirt checked all the boxes: * Did not notice I was wearing a shirt, so it was comfortable. * Did not notice just how hot it had gotten by the end of the hike (hiked 7 AM till Noon), so it kept me cool. * Did not notice how drenched in sweat I was even tho the shirt was wet, read more so the wicking and "dryness" factor was phenomenal. * Roomy without being baggy, clean silhouette, lightweight material. I also saw an endangered woodpecker, would I have seen it without this shirt on? We will never know...

Good fit, cool, comfortable

It fits me very well. I am 6'3 and 175 lbs, so tall and thin, and the size Medium fits me perfectly. I like how the front and rear are just ever so slightly longer than the sides, they have a very light "swoop" to them. I wore it in hot weather (90+F), in the sun, and it kept me cool. Wicks well and dries fast. I bought 2 colors: Driftwood Heather and Black Heather. Both look great. read more I especially like the Driftwood because it's a light brown/grayish/heather earthy color, and I don't have any other color shirts like it, so it's nice to own a new color that still looks good on me. The girlfriend really likes it so what more can I say? The only thing I think could make it better is if the sleeves were just a tad shorter, but that's just personal preference. Saw some reviewers knocking it because it was too big for a baselayer, well this piece isn't meant to be a baselayer. It's a regular fit, and thus is more of an every day summer shirt that can be worn lounging at home, out for drinks, or hiking in hot weather. If you are looking for a baselayer, get something that says baselayer in the name, and has a slim/fitted type of fit, and is 100% merino wool. That is what a baselayer should be.

dislike the fit

I bought this wanting a base layer for hiking and touring. My preference is towards athletic fit and this ain't it. I'm 6'1" and 165 but I fluctuate up to 175 (even 185 2 years ago) and this in a medium would still be too big around the torso for any of those versions of myself. I'm not going to bother to return it since we're in the middle of COVID right now and it gets the job read more done. I don't expect a small to fit me. I'll update after a wash since I may be incorrect about whether merino shrinks.

One of the Must Have pieces of Gear

These shirts are overpriced. However! We still buy them because they are that good. I agree with all the reviews, but I wanted to note that on sizing, this shirt fits true to size. I normally wear an XL in cotton T-shrits, but the 100% merino wool Icebreaker shirts, I size up to 2X. In the Cool lite material, the sizing is accurate; no need to size up. Highly recommended, read more even at the crazy price.

Ideal Shirt

I just received this shirt a couple weeks ago and so far I think it is the ideal shirt. Great athletic performance, moves and stretches while wicking sweat and keeping me cool. But is also comfortable enough (and keeps smells suppressed enough...) to keep wearing while lounging around the house. The shirt also keeps it's shape well and doesn't stretch out and get saggy with an extended read more wear (3+ days). Look forward to how this shirt will wear over the next year, because at that price point, I really hope it has some longevity. Time will tell...

A true do-it-all shirt

I just got my third Icebreaker Sphere short sleeve crew shirt - my first two are doing great, but I wanted another color since I wear them so much. They are great for wearing as a everyday t-shirt, a performance shirt for running/biking/working out, and as a baselayer for skiing. The fabric is soft, antimicrobial and stays cool due to the tencel blend - this is not a "hot" or "itchy" read more wool shirt. It runs true to size and I can highly recommend it.

Nice

I wear mine often, to work, to ride, to ski, it looks crisp in a casual work setting, and also functions great in a performance setting. The material is more durable than straight merino, but I still don't dry mine. After tons of washings, color is holding strong. Love this thing. I am fairly athletic and lean, so the fit is fine alone, but if one were thinking they wanted to cover read more up DadBod, size up, and you'll be fine!

Icebreaker Sphere Crew SS

Bought this tee for working out but really like the fit and lightweight feel for weekend wear. Fit is an athletic fit but definitely not tight. The material is thinner than the smartwool phd tshirts. Wear it often for bike rides to the farmers market or hanging out at backyard bbqs. No pilling yet after a dozen washes.

Active Shirt for Every Activity

I got these for my dad and he wears them casually, hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, and everything in between. They fit great, don't smell, and dry super fast.

Amazing

Backpacked for 5 days through Peru with only two of these (I bought the women's cut and got two of these for my partner). This is everything you could ever ask for. The climate was anything from dry heat, a cold 15,000 ft pass, to hot humid jungle. It dries unbelievably fast and fights off the funk smell. We'd simply soak them in a little water wring them out and put them in read more the sun for a few minutes and they'd smell fresh and look clean. The relocated shoulder seems are a small feature but just make the shirt that much more comfortable.

Bought another one!

I'm in love with this T-shirt. I wear it all the time. I'm the guy that usually only runs without a shirt on. But on a chilly day, this shirt is heaven. Keeps you warm and dry. If it does get a little sweaty, it dries in no time and doesn't stink. I went for a run in it the other day and even went out with friends after and the shirt smelled fresh.

My new favorite T-shirt!

These shirts are amazing! Lightweight, super breathable, and they fit great. Great for long trips, the merino keeps them from stinking up after several days of wear. A little scratchy at first, but after a couple washes they're as soft as can be!

Great Multi-Purpose Tee

At 5'8" and 165 lbs, I went with the large for a slightly looser fit. While this would be a perfect option for the gym or running, I've primarily used it as a riding tee for mountain biking. Breathes well, dries quickly, great material that is easy on the skin, and looks great. Great casual tee to wear around town or to the office.

No Stink!!!

This is an amazing shirt! It's comfort, fits well, looks good, and can be used in town or on the trail. Great for hot summer days or a winter base-layer. The best part is the shirt doesn't stink, even after a long hike or heavy workout!

Summer Wool ≠ Oxymoron

I've long worn Merino for winter activities. The Sphere has introduced Merino to my summer wardrobe as well. It is as cool as a cotton tee without retaining moisture when the desert sun sets. And of course, it beats any synthetic antimicrobial treatment by Day 2 or 3. For my slimmer build, it feels neither baggy nor skin-tight.

Welcome to Thunderdome

Wear this shirt in a post-apocalyptic battle dome. Or wear it to the gym. Or biking, or hiking, or climbing, or running, or (insert activity here). The point is that these shirts are well constructed, versatile, excellent at moisture management, and pretty comfy. I am generally not a huge fan of the feel of wool apparel, but the tencel blend in these makes them less itchy and more read more comfortable than a lot of the merino product on the market. Plus the benefits of merino far outweigh the occasional itch caused by the fabric.

Great active wear tee

This is my first experience with a Merino wool blend shirt from Icebreaker. The Cool-Lite blend (52% Merino wool, 35% TENCEL) shirt is excellent blend of moisture wicking, light weight, and breathability for any warm weather activities. I've used the shirt hiking, working out at the gym, biking, and just as a casual tee and it performs well in each scenario. I find the fit to read more be a relaxed true to size fit. The Cool-Lite blend does not seem to be quite as breathable as 100% Merino, but the added benefits of the TENCEL keep the shirt light and very soft. Additionally, like most Merino apparel, there is little to no noticeable odor after multiple days of prolonged use between washes.

Cool-Lite great for warm weather running

I own a lot of Icebreaker apparel and the Merino wool blend shirts like this Cool-Lite (52% Merino wool, 35% TENCEL) shirt are my favorite for warm weather activity (running, bootcamp) because it's very soft on the skin and doesn't stink. The current colors are a bit dull, which is the only negative.

Stay Fresh in This Versatile Shirt!

My very first time wearing this shirt I put it through the test. Although I was sweaty and hot, the Icebreaker Sphere breathed great, kept me cool and dry, and best of all, my wife didn't say I stunk afterwards ;). I have since worn the shirt out at night, as it's a great fit and very comfortable, and taken it out for a run before it's first wash! Can honestly say I've never had read more a shirt stay so fresh. It's great because I won't wash it as much, reducing it's footprint compared to other shirts I own. A great product that I'd recommend.
