Perfect

Living on the foggy Norcal coast I often need a thin sweater under the sweater or sweatshirt I’m wearing. This top is perfect-slim fitting, thin but warm. I love it.

Icebreaker Siren LS Sweetheart Top

It’s a slim fit and fits nicely. It felt a little itchy at first but quickly got used to it. Going to use as base layer while hiking.

Cute top with nice neckline.

I Like the way that this top does not crowd my neck and it’s easy to hide under sweaters. The merino blend of this style is not as soft as their 100% merino styles though.

Buy this top! or Buy two!

There is nothing fancy about this top, but you are going to want every color anyway. It just a solid layer. I bought my first one a few years ago and its still going strong, no hems coming loose and no holes like I have found with some other merino brands. Great to wear on its own when its chilly and can be layered under sweaters when its frigid outside.

Buy every color.

I really dig this top, I have since I first purchased one in 2016. And that same one I purchased then, has worn supremely well and still looks great. I just purchased the fawn heather for a warm, winter neutral layer and it's beautiful. I'd recommend a neutral or nude colored bra, as it's a touch thin. Agree with the reviewer below, fits just as the other one I purchased a couple read more of years ago. Runs a bit large and I haven't found them to shrink in wash, I generally hang dry to preserve the quality.

My go-to layer

It's my second one, and a hiking and cold weather necessity. It's the perfect lightweight layer for desert hiking and backpacking to wick sweat. In the winter, because of the low neckline, I can discretely layer it under other sweaters or v-necks without the annoying high crew neck of other baselayers popping out. I'm only considering this as true to size because I think it fits read more the same as the one I bought a few years ago, so nothing has changed for me.

A clothing necessity

I own several merino wool baselayers, but my "go to" is the Icebreaker siren sweetheart. The 150 weight means it layers well and the sweetheart neckline means it layers perfectly under polo shirts and V neck t-shirts. I think the gray and fawn heather shirts are made at a different factory than the black shirts. My new black Icebreaker feels thicker and coarser, still softer than read more the competitors, but not as soft as my new gray Icebreaker.

Surprisingly warm yet similarly cool

Merino is a mix of both worlds, hot and cold, and finds a happy medium where you never seem to overheat. The fit of this shirt is a little snug but overall exactly what she was looking for in a bass layer for both casual and athletic use. Looks great at the crag or our to dinner just the same.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this top

I was hesitant about a sweetheart neckline for a baselayer, worrying it might be too drafty, but this actually comes fairly high up on the chest for a good amount of coverage, and actually feels just as cozy as my crew-neck baselayers. SUPER warm, not at all itchy or stuffy...I got the green stripe color, which looks fantastic under a dress, vest or anything else you'd want to wear read more over it.

Comfortable and Warm

Provided consistent warmth during a weekend trip to the Oregon Coast in April, windy with highs in the low 50s. Itchy before the first wash but softened up significantly after that. It didn't get washed for 4 days and didn't stretch to the point it was unusable as a base layer... or stink! Would not recommend as just a plain shirt as advertised.

Just can't get enough!

Love this piece, I could own one in every color. I went w/ a Small, though am typically a Medium and it fits perfectly. Slim, next to the body, sleeves and length are long enough - I could layer with it every day. I think a medium would be slightly baggy in the waist and arms. The wool content is soft, with a bit of stretch.

awesome if it fits

Durable and comfortable but they've changed their sizing so true extra smalls are left out in the cold. So I'm left hoping my old one doesn't wear out because I can't replace it!

Wife (almost) cried when she lost it

My wife and I hiked the Napali Coast trail in pretty much a constant downpour. She wore this shirt for the whole two-day trip and said it was the perfect piece to have with her while we braved the elements... My wife has been eagerly waiting for this shirt to get back in stock since she discovered that she left hers Kauai. Oops. Be warned that the fabric of this shirt is THIN, read more but that's actually the main reason my wife says she loves it. It can work as a very light single-layer, or a versatile base-layer to put warmer layers on top of... She also says she likes the neckline because it is a lot more flattering than a traditional crewneck.

A versatile wool base

I was looking for a merino wool base layer that I could also get away with wearing out to dinner, this top works for both. I like the wider neck and cut of the top. I got the black in medium, like most icebreaker tops I would say it runs small as I am often a small. I have no issues with the wool itching. I want to order the other colors!

Great for activity or everyday!

I'm a sucker for a good thin long sleeved layering shirt, and the fit of this one was great! I tried this out while playing disc golf in dry 37-40 degree weather on a windy day. I wore it as my bottom layer under a fleece and a shell and it stayed put and didn't ever ride up! I like the longer length of the shirt and the longer sleeves that go past my wrists. I'm 5'6", 125 lbs, read more a B-cup, and the small fits perfectly! My only issue was that it was a tad bit itchy at the crease of my elbow, but I'm hoping that will stop after a few washes!

Get it, Got it? GOOD!

So I haven't yet taken this baby out on a ski tour yet since its not winter. However I have worn it on some cold fall nights and it does awesome! It was stiff at first but giving it an initial wash really helped. Climbing outside in this shirt is perfect for those cold fall days in the mountains. This top would do well camping and hiking as well. It not only kept me warm but dry read more and that is always super important especially when dealing with the cold. Not only does it have outdoor uses it can be worn as a casual piece as well. Paired with some cute jeans you can totally rock this at a get together. The fit is super cute and slimming. I'm 5'4" 120lbs and the size Small is perfect. If you want it to be "to the skin" I would suggest getting the XS. I highly recommend this top to the ladies out there who are looking for an awesome base layer for the fall/winter. I look forward to using it in the winter and will update my review when I fully test drive this top out.
