Get this—GSI Outdoors created the Ultralight Nesting Bowl and Mug with those two design features, so you're less likely to spill hot beverages and food when your hands are shaking from the cold. Great bowl set

This is a great nesting bowl set. I was at first concerned about quality when ordering based on the price however I was wonderfully surprised when I received them. They are great quality and fit together perfectly. This is a really good value in my opinion. I use these for our dog when we travel and works out great.

Not a bad set

I got this for my daughter to take warm food to school, but she said it doesnt keep it warm enough. It seems to be good and sturdy. My wife has been using it for her lunches and she says it does the job.

Backpacking Love!!

I stumbled upon these a few years ago and fell in love. Being able to stack these into one another saves a ton of space vs other brands out there. I use these for drinking and eating out of. You really don't need a separate purpose for everything you bring so that's why these have been amazing! Durable, cheap and semi light!

Great camp gear

Light weight and fits snugly inside each other. Mug is more like another bowl.

Great little set

I love how light these are. And because they nest together it takes up very little room in my pack.

Very Pleased, Great Set

The set fits together very nice and compact. The lid fits securely. I use the cup as an insulated bowl on my backcountry trips. If I am traveling with a partner without their own bowl, I will bring both pieces. The lid and insulation helps keep food hot while rehydrating. Perhaps not for the minimalist, because it can fit two servings. With its size, for packing, I stack my pot read more in the bowl and place them both in a mesh bag. I have also had the chance to use the smaller version from the soloist set and they compare equally.

Pretty great

I've enjoyed this set of a simple bowl and mug. It saves room having two in one. It's nice the mug has a little thermos wrap around the outside. However, if you hardly do dishes in the back country it's hard to want to slide the clean outside of the mug into your dirty bowl at the end of a meal.

Two bowls for the price of one?

I would say they are more a bowl than a cup. I will call them a bowl/cup. GSI makes great stuff. It is a nice little set. An insulated bowl/cup with a lid for keeping your food/drink warm. Bowl/cup for food/drink for man/child. It is like a match made in heaven. It is a nice set to bring and have a lot of flexibility in how you want to use it.

Great lightweight set for two

4.3 ounces is not much, especially if sharing between two. In my opinion the mug and bowl can be used both for bowls, seeing as how most people will already have a drinking vessel... but the mug does work quite nicely for drinking hot coffee or tea out of as well. If I am on a solo adventure, I only take the mug (the one with a cozy and lid) and use it as my bowl. In combination read more with the GSI Outdoors Halulite Minimalist Set, just the mug works perfectly as a bowl for the solo mission, using the GSI Halulite Minimalist Pot as a mug. If your partnering up for your trip, take the whole set and it is perfect to share. Even the larger vessel, deemed the bowl, which does not have a cozy is still easy to hold, as I never really feel much heat through the plastic. The set has enough space inside to hold a variety of items and fits snugly in even the smaller corners or your pack. All in all, it is a great set for yourself or to share, and for eight dollars it is kind of hard to say no. This one does the job for sure.

Yummy

It is so fun to cook creative food in the backcountry. This set is perfect for yummy food, coffee and a bit of wine :) The width makes them virtually un-spillable and they have a sippy lid. Love it.

Replacement for Dualist

A buddy of mine lost one of my bowls in a stream--current took it right from his hand while washing and immediately under the 50yd snow pack. Needless to say, it wasn't recovered. Needed a replacement and researched the GSI website. This bowl combo was the exact match for the Ultralite Dualist. Bingo, cooking set is complete again!

These cups/bowls are a Wonderful thing!

These came in my Glacier Dualist kit from GSI & they are extraordinary! I have used them multiple times just as measuring cups thanks to the OZ & ML markings inside. They do exactly what they are made to do & they are light & tough! A+++

Useful and handy

These work well and are well-engineered and well thought-out. The fit is great; the neoprene sleeve makes it snug so there's no rattling. You can put a fuel canister inside them when packing (just like any bowl, really, but these have a flat bottom, which makes them very space-efficient). The squat shape makes them hard to knock over. Use them in the right order so you don't get read more food all over the sleeve packing up dirty dishes. The tops are a little stiff, but they work well. All in all, very handy.

GSI Outdoors Ultralight Nesting Bowl and Mug

Affordable and light weight, keeps food warm for just over 10 minutes, and the nesting feature makes compact packing much easier. The bowl holds enough for 2 servings and the lit will help keep the bugs out while you stoke the fire; that is unless you prefer to have a little extra protein with your dinner.

As Advertised

This is a decent cup/bowl set. It works as you'd expect and doesn't take up too much room. My only complaint is that it's difficult to fit most spoons/forks in this bowl. GSI does make a folding spork, but that doesn't really stand up to any decent use. All in all, not a bad buy.

Handy

These seem pretty handy, so far. Good, multipurpose bowl/cup combo. Be careful snapping the lid onto the cup. I wasn't paying attention and gave it a firm press in the center, and it folded because of the sipper cut out. No biggy, I just need to remember to press from the edges rather than the center.
