Granite Gear Crown 2 60L Limited Edition Backpack reviews and deals for sale

The Appalachian Trail serves up a lot of miles to walk, and if you have a heavy pack, some of those miles are going to be difficult. Instead of suffering from the weight of a heavy pack on a multi-day adventure, shoulder Granite Gear's Crown2 60L Backpack and move quickly over long, demanding trails. At 2lb 5oz, the Crown2 won't be holding you back much, and if you need to make the pack even lighter, the top bucket and internal frame sheet are removable, so it's possible to get the backpack down to 1lb 11oz. And for those who repeatedly have trouble finding a pack that fits, the Crown2 has Granite Gear's Re-Fit hip belt, which easily adjusts to various body sizes, so the pack's hip belt can still cinch down to fit your body when you lose ten pounds hiking the AT.

Broken strap

So i took this out on an overnight trip. Had maybe 20 lbs in the pack. Worked great hiking to but in the morning as soon as everything is packed the strap for the buckle on my waist had unthreaded and bike off. Thank goodness it was a short trek out. I've sent this back.

Versatility and Low Weight

After agonizing over the purchase of a pack to replace the ancient Jansen aluminium external frame pack, the Granite Gear Crown 60 is perfect for me. I wanted to be light, but I'm not ready to go frameless, I wanted the versatility of being able to carry a lot, or not so much volume, and I didn't want to spend a fortune on a pack I might replace if my needs change as I become more read more familiar with 'modern' backpacking equipment. The simple top load bag makes a lot of sense to me. I stack my gear in it in the order I'll use it when I get to camp, bag and pad in the bottom in a waterproof pack liner, food bag on top of that, then the tent. As it gets warmer, I put shed layers on top of the tent and let the pack get a little taller. The lycra pocket expands plenty to hold the toiletries bag and trowel, as well as my sit pad, tent stakes, ditty bag, and map. The side pockets easily hold the water filtration and a 1 liter bottle on one side, the other becomes my 'catch-all' pocket for stuff... The adjustable hip belt is nice. I found myself adjusting it (it can be made longer or narrower at the center back) several times during the first hike to get the right feel, and haven't touched it since. The hip belt pockets are roomy enough for each to carry a packet of tuna, a packet of spam, three bars, and a long plastic spoon (for the tuna). One pocket gets the food, the other gets the sweat towel. I haven't used the removable bag yet, maybe if I do a short overnight and want more stuff for camp. I also haven't tried removing the internal frame pad yet, I'm considering trying that on an upcoming four nighter after I reduce the weight of my gear. All of my usage to date has been at about 30-32 pounds total weight including water, food, fuel, and the thermals for camp. I tend to walk all day, and the pack doesn't create any hotspots on my skin. I do move the load lifters around quite a bit, especially when gaining elevation or downhiking.

GREAT PACK

Switched to the Granite Gear 60L Crown 2 and promptly sold my Osprey Atmos 65ag. This pack is everything I wanted and more. After reading dozens of great reviews and watching review (vlogs) on YouTube, I thought this may be the pack for me. I was correct. I love everything about it. If you want a tough, trail proven, lightweight pack this is the one. I can even get much more read more gear in this 60L than I could the 65L Osprey. All the adjustments are great as well. A lot of though went into designing this pack. At this price point there is no way you can go wrong. Big props to Granite Gear and to Back Country. The collaboration of the 2 produced a great product at a great price. What more could you want?

On the granite gear crown 2, what is the difference between the regular and long torso options? And is this backpack unisex?
