Best Shoes Ever for Hot weather

Best shoes I've owned. Love them for ease of use and extremely lightweight. Only thing that gives them trouble is rain. Not good shoes for Rain or Cold but if it's 60 or warmer and not raining these are the best available. If it's nice out the Sidi's get the dust pile until it's cold or raining. Hard to explain until you wear it but if you pick up the pair and it weighs the same as one of your other shoes you'll notice immediately.

When I first opened the box I was worried - have they sent my the wrong size? I put on some Castelli socks and tried them on. Initial impression - VERY light and VERY form-fitting. If I were to pair a thicker sock with these shoes I doubt I could get them on (at least comfortably). For me, the price point and the comfort of the shoes are spot on.

Too tight and uncomfortable

I’ve have never over 37 years of cycling experienced type of pain post ride that I have with these shoes. From mid to hammered toes, I had the it all with these shoes, adjusting laces and socks and heel lifts at different times. I know that hands and feet have more bones than the rest of the skeletal body; so, it’s hard to isolate the origin of pain at times. But bruised… read more bones are hard to treat no matter what the origin. Rest didn’t help. Switching back to old shoes didn’t help either. Giro has been my favorite shoe brands for a long time; I’m stubborn and cheap enough not to give up. I plan to try a stretch next. I will not even attempt to address what particular elements of the shoe’s construction-side support, platform, or profile-has led to my discomfort; that’s important to highlight-its my discomfort. For my feet, age, and previous injuries are unique to me. But I’m disappointed, for I thought I was going to have another great experience with a pair of Giro shoes.

Light But Too Tight

Lace system is ok, more of a novelty at end of the day. And speaking of at end of day, or close to end of a ride—the tightness of foot bed begins to take its effect. Prolight Techlace: feather light

I am very pleased with these shoes. They are incredibly light, yet stiff. The lacing system allows for a tight fit regardless of the thickness of one's socks. They are quite comfortable. Hopefully, the laces will not snap. Pricing is quite variable, and it may take patience to find the correct size at a good price point.

Super light and comfy!

These are light and comfortable. I wear 44.5 in sidi ergo and these fit me in 44.5 as well. I put in the Ergon IP3 Solestar insoles size 44/45 and they fit great The toe box area is soft. Dopest road shoes ever!

These are the dopest road shoes i have ever owned. Stupid light and comfortable, they make me want to stay out all day. If only Giro made some prolight-tech legs to match i would swap my own for them.

Wish I didn't take so long to order these

These shoes arrived a few days ago and I was really excited to wear them on a ride after opening the box and feeling how light they are in comparison to my Sidis. Disappointing

After less than 10 uses the heel piece fell off and the sole cracked. For such an expensive shoe I would have expected it to be much more durable. For the first broken pair, BC took care of the return/warranty, making the return experience seamless. Unfortunately, the sole of the second pair also cracked (made it a bit longer than the first pair - prob ~20 uses). Lightweight - Check Stiff - Check Comfortable - Check What else could you want? These shoes are beyond awesome, and I honestly can't see myself using another shoe for quite some time.

Never going back

This shoe is simply awesome. Done with the days of clunky heavy sidis. This shoe is light, easily adjustable and really, once you wear them, you don't want to put anything else on. Most comfortable shoes I've owned

These shoes are fantastics. I used to wear bontragers 45s and swapped to a these in a 45. The insoles are better than the custom ones I used to have, and the shoes simply feel like a slipper. The one modification I wound up making was for triathlon, racing barefoot, there are some seems inside the shoe and some taped edges that were too thin. Giro Prolight Techlace

These are the most comfortable and stiff shoes I've owned. I received them and did 600 miles and 19000 feet of climbing in them in the first seven days. Not one hotspot, blister or any foot issue. Stiff and light

So I got these shoes a week or so back and have a few hundred miles on them, so just a preliminary review. I swapped to these from a pair of Empire SLXs, these are 25g lighter each. While it might not sound like much, the difference in weight was immediately noticeably when I slipped these on. The TeXtreme sole allows Giro to keep the same amount of stiffness while losing weight.… read more Even with all the weight savings, they didn't cut any corners on durability or comfort. The heel cup is still very nicely padded and the toe area is built up and has resisted all the toe rub I have gotten (#smallbikeproblems). The only small thing is that the heel pad isn't replaceable, but they wear very well, and shouldn't be an issue. The Techlace system is velcro straps refined. Instead of a wide band of unbreathable synthetic, only laces are draped across the top of your foot. The system also allows for a small amount of movement so it fits just right after a few miles on the bike. Even if you didn't get it right the first time, just lift the velcro tab, and place it back down where you think it'd be comfier. Simple as that. If you don't want the Techlace, there is also the option to retrofit them with old regular laces, which saves a further few grams from the shoe. They fit exactly the same as the Empire SLX/ACC/Originals. Feel free to reach out with any other questions!

If I wear a 46 in Shimano RP3 and an 11 in running shoes - it appears I should be a 45 based on Giro's sizing guide but then I see comments of them being tight. Would a 45.5 hit the sweet spot?

I wear a 42 in Fizik R1B Uomo but 41.5 in Shimano and Louis Garnesu. What do you think is best size for Giro Prolight Techlace?
