Giordana SilverLine Classic Short-Sleeve Jersey - Men's reviews and deals for sale

The SilverLine Classic Men’s Jersey shares some of the same DNA as Giordana’s top-of-the-line offerings, but it delivers this stylish performance at a price-point that won’t break the bank. Like many of Giordana’s race-driven jerseys, the SilverLine Classic features strategic paneling to reduce drag and provide a cycling-specific design that’s more comfortable than the racers-only FormaRed line. Giordana uses a soft, UV-blocking fabric with excellent moisture wicking capabilities and includes breathable mesh under the arms and on the lower back to improve ventilation. The jersey is kept comfortably in place via gentle, woven elastic along the arm cuffs in addition to simple turned elastic at the front of the waistband, and the soft gripper elastic on the rear hem ensures fit whether you’re ripping in the drops or dancing out of the saddle on a climb.

Fits funny

This shirt fits funny. It bunches weirdly in the front and does not give a tight fit.

Quality jersey, true to size

These reviews are very helpful to me, because let's face it: garments made from stretchy fabric can be difficult to size properly. I already own Giordana Silverline bibs (M) and a Trade jersey (M). The quality/durability of both garments is great, so I ordered without hesitation. Based on my height & measurements (5' 10", 165lbs, 39 chest, 32 waist), I fall between Medium and read more Large for this one. This is a club fit jersey, and after trying both sizes, I found the Large to be a better fit. It's about 2 inches too long for my torso, but everything else fits just as it should. UPDATE: I've ridden with this jersey twice in Georgia 95-degree summer heat & humidity. The fabric is thin and light, it does a great job of breathing and wicking moisture. While the cut is club fit, it doesn't feel too loose or flap in the breeze. I'm happy with this product.

Totall crap

I ordered a size large and yes I double checked it's a size large. Blah ha ha, are you kidding me? I'm 5'11" 166lbs and this large wouldn't even come close to zipping up. I've got a good 4 inched to get to where the zippers would attach. AT LEAST 2 sizes too small. Also holding it up to the light the material is fully see through thin. A rip is just waiting to happen. The read more zipper is plastic and cheap. Shame on you Giordana - never again!

Great Jersey

This is a great training jersey, not too tight, not too loose. The zipper is a little clunky, but very nice still. Pockets are in the right places and don't droop. Doesn't bunch up anywhere.

Good jersey, not the best

Material feels it could be better.

Disenchanted with Giordana

Unraveling thread from the cuffs and hems and arm elastic that isn't elastic were the first disappointments. The arm holes are uncomfortably small and I'm 162 lbs and 6'1 and ordered a large. Please notice the wrinkles around the upper pecs and arm on the black jersey in the picture above. That doesn't feel good. On the bright side, the jersey looked sharp while unpacking it.

Decent Fit, Not the best for tall folks.

I am fairly tall and lanky, the L jersey was too loose and the Med was a great fit but too short - it tends to ride up easily and doesnt quite stay put. Overall I am pleased with the kit but these are not my go-to jersey/bibs. Still, the quality is there and I feel if I were slightly shorter I would prefer these over most of my kits.

Excellent Value for the Price

This is a great jersey. The fit is slim as all Italian jerseys but not a second-skin feel. The material is light and comfortable without being super fancy and bringing the price up. The sleeves are a good length and not too long, not too short. The body is a touch short for taller skinny riders but works fine if you're wearing bibs.

Don't like the cuffs

I'm 6", 215 and ordered the XL. It's a good fit around the torso--no bunching and isn't skin tight and the length is almost perfect. However, I can't recommend this unless you've got thin arms (like a racing pro) b/c the grip is about 3/4" wide and fits very tightly around my biceps (which aren't like Popeyes). I like my Sport Elite jersey better which is more breathable and not read more restrictive in any way and costs less on this site.

Jersey you'll have forever

This jersey has many features only seen on super high price point jerseys. The stitching is impeccable and the variety of fabric make this a performance ready piece. The material is adequately comfortable, but robust. The Silverline pieces from Giordana are perfect for the all around cyclist who wash their kits on a regular basis. This jersey will last the long miles and be ready read more for the next ride. The fit is more spacious than race pieces. The shoulders fit true to size, but the mid section is a bit more relaxed. Oh that Fluo color is awesome, keeps the cars at bay.

Instant classic!

Tired of old, shabby, out of style jerseys? Need to up your game in the cool factor? Wife telling you that you stink, or need more sunblock? Look no further, as the Giordana Silverline jersey has you covered! Excellent color options and styles, so you will stay visible, and also snag a compliment or two just on looks. THEN people will compliment on how fit you look due to the excellent read more cut of the jersey. Definitely a next to skin fit, but a comfortable next to skin. I am generally a large T-shirt, and XL jersey in most Italian brands. I went XL in this with good results, but could probably fit a Large for a more aggressive fit no problem. They are cut a little long, so coverage around the mid section is great, and the sleeves are a little longer too, but very nice feeling. Do you have issues with the sun, need sunblock, or limited to time exposed to it? Well good news there, is that ALL Giordana jerseys are UPF 50+ rated, so say hello to better/longer summer rides with great protection. Did I mention the jersey also breathes great? Well if not, the jersey breathes great!! If you need a new jersey, this is definitely a great option to consider. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. jehall@backcountry.com

Pretty hard to critique at this price

This is one of the very few non-race cut jerseys I'll wear. After 8 or 9 rides, I'm prepared to double down on my initial assessment. The Silverline collection is excellent. Giordana cuts this jersey perfectly. It's not skin-tight, but it doesn't have the dreaded t-shirt feel that plagues so many non-race jerseys. The materials, premium hand, and aesthetic delivery far in excess read more of their price point, and I can say with a good deal of confidence that if you pull the trigger on anything from the Silverline collection, you won't regret it.

Workhorse Cont'd

Let me start by stating the Silverline is a quality jersey for what it accomplishes. You'll ride it day in and day out and you won't give it a second thought, but eventually you'll find yourself wanting a bit more. The fabric has a decent hand and does well at keeping moisture wicked away, but the looser fit does not manage to keep good contact with your skin. I suggest pairing read more it with a baselayer if you really want a productive moisture management system. Overall I like the jersey for the price, but I am irritated by the cut around the arms. I found it cut into my armpits and created some discomfort after a while, but your results may vary.

Quality Jersey

Great inexpensive jersey. I like the quality of it a lot and it will certainly last. It's not quite as light as I like, but it still breathes pretty well. Just not something I would wear on those real hot days. The pockets do a good job holding your gear. Great match with the Silverline bibs.

I'm gonna use the V word

The SilverLine classic represents the best value jersey we carry at the moment. Now, when I use the word "value," I don't want you to think about the giant bag of off-brand Lucky Charms. I want you to imagine feeling incredibly satisfied with an experience, considering the barriers to entry. For $100, I guarentee that you will be incredibly satisfied with the SilverLine jersey (and read more the rest of the SilverLine series as well.) The quality of construction and premium hand are extremely impressive. Fit is pretty standard for Giordana, and falls somewhere between slim relaxed cut. I wear a small in all of their other pieces, and the Silverline series fit true to size. For reference, I wear a medium Assos jersey, medum Castelli, medium Sportful, and small Giro.

Fantastic for taller riders.

Because of my size (5'9", 240 lbs), I often have problems finding cycling clothing that fits me properly. Now, just because my body is more about fatness than fitness these days doesn't mean that I don't want high-end technical fabrics and a body hugging fit to help optimize the fabric doing its best job... it doesn't matter to me what you think I look like in Lycra, it only matters read more about how comfortable I am when riding. At first try-on, the Silverline range from Giordana is quite comfortable; good chamois in the bibs, and I was able to put on the bibs and jersey without too much struggle over my thighs or my belly. One of the things I really like about the fit is that the jersey is relatively long, which means not much of a gap between the bottom of the jersey and the top of the shorts. There is a nice closed mesh panel right at the base of the back just above the pockets and similar panels under the armpits to help vent excess heat, and subtle reflective accents on the cuffs, below the pit mesh panels, and on the pockets for additional visibility when riding in low-light conditions. The extra length in the jersey can also be found in the bibs, but in this case the extra length is also one of the downfalls for me. I have long femurs for my height, so I've always liked bibs with longer inseams. As is typical with a lot of cycling clothing, as you increase the size of the garment, the length often increases proportionately ... and in the XXL bibs I have, the inseam measures out at 12.5", just about an inch too long from what would ideally suit me. If I were 2 or 3 inches taller, with the same girth, I think the XXL bibs would fit me perfectly. If I were only 170 lbs. instead of 240 lbs. I think a Large would also have a suitable inseam length ... but at my current height/weight combination, I do wish the legs were a little shorter. On initial impressions however, the leg length issue is the only downside, and that's obviously particular to my own body shape. I have yet to decide if the extra length is something I will be able to ignore when riding, or if it's going to be something that bugs me. On the bright side, however, we often have customers looking for bibs with longer inseams, and now I know for sure that Giordana fits that bill quite well.
