Good Overall, Black Color Rubbed Off

I like these gloves. They're warm, I like that they're pretty simple, easy to slip on and off. Kept my hands warm and dry for the days I skied with them. I haven't really put the waterproofness or the warmth to the test, I didn't have any particularly cold or wet days with these. For typical winter resort days in the rockies, these were great. The biggest downside I would warn read more people about is that the black color rubbed off on my jacket. My red jacket now looks dirty around the cuffs and along zippers I grab with the gloves on. I'm not super upset about it, stuff gets dirty, but it is a bit of a bummer for a new jacket to get dirty so quickly because the coloring of the gloves. I wouldn't recommend buying the black color unless you have a dark jacket, the black will rub off on your clothes.

Only mitts I wear

Been exclusively wearing these mittens for almost a decade now. Obviously I've gone through a few pairs in that time, but I always come back. Wear them on pow days and slushy spring days alike. Warm enough for mid-winter, but not so warm that you can;t wear them in spring. Waterproof enough for me, durable, and grippy. Plus they're low profile so they don't look like boxing gloves. read more And for the price, you really can't beat them.

Absolutely top notch mate.

Been using these bad boys the past 2 years! They've excelled in every possible way, keeping my hands toasty in blower Canadian pow, high altitude European steeps, and New Zealand's windy whiteouts. Definitely recommend the Flylow Oven Mitten to any skier looking for a reliable and stylish glove!

Great Mitten

I bought the powder blue colorway a few years ago. I have put them through 2-3 full ski seasons in the Wasatch. The waterproofing does wear off, but some nikwax takes care of that. For such a light weight glove, they are very warm and durable. They do a great job keeping my fingers toasty

You get what you pay for

I was looking for a pair of no frills mitts that would perform well out on the hill without the price point and over the top design of the big brands (HH, Arct, Hestra). I was wrong to go for these mittens. They feel very cheap, like a plastic bag sandwiched between leather and liner. They have no stretch, giving a very restricting feeling. The waterproofing is poor; you would expect read more a glove that is marketed for skiing/snowboarding to be waterproofed and ready to rock upon purchase, but they were not. Overall, I am not satisfied with the glove. I would have returned them, but the 30 day limit had passed before I was able to receive them, try them out and decide that they're junk. The only silver lining is that I only wasted $50 on them. I thought this brand would set a new precedent for ski/snowboard gloves/mitts, but no.

Warm and Dry

Bought these for my father, whose hands are always cold in the winter. He primarily uses them for cross country skiing. He's loved them this past season. He treated them with leather conditioning so they stayed looking sharp.

Kinda fell apart

Liked the mitts initially. Everything you would want from a mitt however it didn't take too made rides before the seam at the wrist section started splitting. Could have warrantied but didn't really want another pair. Not the most waterproof either. I could have applied some Nik Wax to increase waterproofing but late season they've been getting soaked.

Backcountry customer service!!!

First of all, I would give these gloves 4.5 out of 5 stars; they are extremely warm and durable! They size a little small, I was hoping to be able to fit my liners inside. But I have worn them on some extremely cold days with no liners and no issue. Once you go mittens, you’ll never go back!!! I would give Backcountry 10 stars for their customer service!!! UPS decided that the read more best place to drop off my shipment was on top of the communal recycling bin shared between 5 cabins in my community (I question UPS’s judgement). Furthermore, they didn’t feel any follow up as to where the package was delivered to seemed necessary. So after a week of no package in sight, I began the process of fighting the UPS automated answering system, until I finally spoke with customer service, who made me feel like an idiot for questioning why they would leave a CARDBOARD PACKAGE ON TOP OF A RECYCLING BIN?! I finally called Backcountry, where an awesome customer service rep answered the phone immediately (on a Saturday afternoon) and immediately rush-delivery shipped another order of gloves to me. Backcountry saved the day, and my hands have been toasty ever since. Long story short, get these gloves, and stick with Backcountry!!!

Warmth all around

I bought these mittens for my wife this winter and she has loved them! They have kept her hands warm this entire winter which is something that is not easy to do but these mittens seem to have done the trick! I would highly recommend these. They are light and warm and waterproof. Especially if you throw on some nik wax!

Great mittens!

I got these for a trip to Revelstoke, BC and was 100% satisfied and sincerely impressed. I didn't need to treat them with water repellent, they were good to go from day one. I did use liners underneath them for instances where I needed to use my fingers for working with a screwdriver or wrench, but I think they would be fine on slightly warmer days without liners. Overall I would read more definitely recommend these gloves for the fit, warmth and comfort.

Don’t understand the 5 star reviews

I bought these mitts at the start of the season and used them skiing once before they were relegated to the bottom of my bag. It was not a super cold day. Probably around 20. They are in no way warm. The insulation is about the thickness of a T-shirt. My hands were freezing by the bottom of each run. They would warm up on the lift ride back to the top though. After leaving read more the mountain I went straight to the feed store and bought the Kincos version.

Best Mittens ever!

I absolutely love these mittens. They started out as my husbands mittens, but I have taken them over as mine because I love them so much! They are super warm, I usually get cold fingers all day while on the mountain, but with these I rarely have cold fingers. They also keep me dry all day! They are starting to lose a bit of their water repellancy (we have had them for a few years read more now!), but I can easily use a leather glove waterproofing solution to upkeep on them, and I will add to this review once I do that. Overall, I highly recommend these mitts. Not only do they look rad, they are really practical, comfortable and warm as well!

Toasty Warm!

This is a sweet mitt! I just got these recently to replace some super old gloves, and they were wonderful! Kept me nice and toasty warm (granted I have been up on some super warm days). The soft inner liner is nice. I anticipate loving these for more years to come, especially at that price point! I didnt have any trouble with fit. I typically wear a XS and these fit great, not too read more tight or big. Check it out for yourself!

Super Cozy

I've worn these gloves in a bunch of different temps, and they always kept my hand warm and dry with overheating. Also, natural leather color looks great. My only draw back is that they don't have lanyards.

Great, easy mitten

This mitten is durable, warm, and pretty water proof. I use it skiing on storm days, as well as in the spring in the park. Have only had them get wet after slushy park conditions. Keep my hands warm, could easily accommodate a liner. The leather is super durable as well, my pairs have lasted at least two seasons of hard use. Over this long of a period they do pack out a bit, only read more notice a little drop in warmth on the coldest of days.

Nice and Warm!

I bought these for my sister, she has been wanting these for years and finally wanted to pull the trigger. We both get cold hands really easily when on the mountain and mittens are the way to go, the best part she said is they are really warm but don't feel too bulky which can happen when there is lots of insulation and that can be hard for mittens and dexterity. My sister has really read more small hands and being unisex mittens we were worried but the XS is perfect for her and fits well.

The only mitt you need

Best mitts I have every owned. The leather is very water resistance and has a clean look to it. They are extremely warm, but don't make your hands too sweaty. There is no drawstring to attach to your wrist, but you can easily add one from an old pair of mittens.

Soooo soft and warm

These mittens are incredibly soft and warm. They are nice and flexible that allow you to hold things, while being thick enough to keep out the cold. Definitely my go to resort mitten this winter

Would you recommend upsizing if I wanted to wear a light fleece liner glove under these? I have a Large in the FlyLow Ridge Glove, but I don't wear liner gloves under those.

How warm are these mittens? My hands get extremely cold skiing. What is the lining and what is the lowest temperature they withstand?
