Five Ten Kestrel Lace-Up Cycling Shoe - Women's reviews and deals for sale

The dirt-loving designers over at Five Ten decided their original Kestrel shoe was so much fun that they couldn't stop at just one. As a result, you now have plenty of options to choose from when you're upgrading your biking shoes for the season. Kestrel made a few changes and tweaks along the way that led to the creation of the Kestrel Lace-Up Women's Shoe.

Designed for hard-charging all-mountain/enduro gals, the Kestrel Lace-Up aims to provide a more supportive, contoured fit around your foot than its older sibling with its lace-up closure, hook-and-loop strap, and non-slip heel cup. Kestrel also chose a nylon-reinforced EVA midsole to achieve more flex along the bottom of the shoe, and it designed the Stealth C4 rubber outsole with a wide cleat interface to make it easy to snap in and out of the pedals quickly on technical terrain. The Kestrel Lace-Up's uppers are PU-coated synthetic, so they won't crack or rip at the first spill you take on a loose, scree-filled section of trail.

A Very Well Made Bicycling Shoe

These shoes are sturdy, yet very comfortable, perfect for mountain biking. Cleats are easy to install. I returned my first purchase of these shoes as they were too large (long), size 7.5. I received a replacement size 7 and they fit perfect! I usually wear a 7.5 in regular shoes. Returns are very easy. My friends recommended Five Ten and now I will too. I am looking forward read more to many miles on the bike wearing these shoes.

Great Fitting Clipped In Shoe

These did take a few rides to break into my foot, but once they did, I couldn't be happier. The velcro strap at the top is key for getting my shoe to fit snug. These don't fit too wide (like five ten flat shoes tend fit).

Great Shoes

Got these for my wife and she digs them. Nice fit and not as clunky as some of their other models. Durable and slick.

Great shoes for enduro/cross country

These are a great option for clipless shoes and pedals without having to use the egg beaters (thinner platform clips). I love the stability of these shoes and how comfortable they are. I like that they can tighten near the ankle with the velcro but be a little looser with the laces. Great shoes for biking!

Size is a little too big

Riding shoes should be a little snug. Bought a 8.5 and it was just slightly too big, my heel was slipping out just when flexing my foot. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size available so I bought something else.

Love these shoes

I only got into mountain biking because my husband is really into it. And honestly I only switched to clipless pedals because I wanted these shoes! So that gives you a little back story about how much I know. But seriously, I do love the shoes and he says that they are great too. The only thing that I sometimes don't like is the laces get snagged on the velcro and have started to read more fray some. Other than that - so great!

My favorite mountain bike shoe

This is by far my favorite go to mtn biking shoe. It has a stiff sole which is great for long days pedaling. Not so stiff that I can't be comfortable hiking around though and there is no ankle slip at all! 5.10 really takes their product testing seriously and it shows in these shoes. They are extremely breathable and fit true to size. I wear a 7.5 and would go with that sizing read more unless you like more toe room then a half size up should also work. I wear pretty thin socks though when riding. For winter and wet protection go with the Kestrel Pro. They are too hot in the summer but in the cold and wet they really shine

No break-in time

I wanted a shoe that I could wear with flat pedals now and clipless later, and went with the Kestrel because it was one of the few women's-specific shoes that are built for that. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid the shoes are. The uppers feel a lot like leather, and the soles are stiff and solid, which makes the shoe feel like something I'll be able to wear for the next several read more seasons. Aside from a little rubbing around my ankles, I haven't felt any need to break these in before using, and the lacing holds my feet in place really well while I'm riding--no need to stop and make adjustments.

Good First Bike Shoe

Takes on a look more similar to that of a regular shoe, but functions as a supportive bike shoe. Great rubber sole for traction. Can be used for multiple functions, either flat or clip less pedals. Looking forward to getting some good use from them throughout the summer.
