Five Ten Impact Pro Cycling Shoe - Men's reviews and deals for sale

Five Ten was the first brand on the market with a sole that gripped like crazy to your flat pedals, seeing they used climbing-inspired Stealth rubber on the bottom of the original Impact Shoes for sticky traction. After varying redesigns addressing issues of overall durability, the Impact Pro Shoe is back to solidify Five Ten's dominance in the world of aggressive all-mountain and gravity disciplines with its stout and sturdy design, complete with Stealth rubber that originally made it famous among riders using flats.

If you're going to ride with flats, then this is the shoe to have, at least if you don't want to slip off your pedals at an inopportune moment, only to fly off your bike at high speeds or suffer a painful pedal shot to your shin. That's because the newest version of the Impact Pro is using a Stealth S1 outsole with traction bumps throughout to dig into your pedals without slipping, even if it's wet and muddy on the trail. The upper is reinforced too, with a Poron XRD foam toe cap taking the sting out of slamming your toes on a fall or bashing the front of the shoes into a sharp rock.

Wow wow wow sticky

I've been riding in clipless pedals exclusively for nearly 10 years. I put these on and felt like I still had the confidence of being clipped in with the freedom of a flat pedal. Fantastic and sticky shoes. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to a clipless pedal again.

Solid shoes

These shoes are heavy, which helps keep your feet glued to the pedals. The bottoms are soft plastic which helps them stick as well. Also, their’s a ton of padding making them nearly indestructible. I notice a difference in my confidence since switching to these shoes.

Love them!

I’ve been running flats on my trail bike and wanted a shoe that was a little stiffer than my 5.10 Freerider which I found was a little too flexible for pedaling and stability in rough terrain. These are so lightweight for a bulkier stiffer shoe too. They don’t feel like much and offer great protection for rocks and the ever changing terrain. Super comfy to hike in too. Not read more waterproof but def still hold up well even in the wet. Def one of the best riding choices I made!

Get these!

Rock-solid grip on my pedals. Shoes do not slip in any direction. Should have bought dedicated MTB shoes much sooner - they make a difference.

Freerider ELC to Impact Pro

I am coming off 3 pairs of Freerider ELC - with the lace cover. I was a huge fan of the shoes for the extra protection from both water and impacts. The last pair I had sadly and literally broke in half. 1st the mid sole/shank and then the sole and due to the excess movement even started tearing the foot bed. Previous shoes lasted at least 2 seasons with heavy use. As the ELC read more has faded away and new models are coming out of the Five Ten den its cool to see that the impacts are getting a little more streamline and less bulk while not sacrificing too much protecting. The Impact pro still has plenty of protection. The all black version which I picked up - wanted camo - do look like clunky old man Frankenstein shoes due to the extra padding - but the fit is classic FiveTen - pretty near perfect. great heel cup wrap and toe box width on my size 42s. I have yet to ride the shoes but initial carpet testing is really comfortable and I'm inspired to get out there!

Lightweight great protection

I had a pair of sam hills before these and am way more happy with these. The hills felt kind of clunky and these are way lighter. I use them for DH as well as trail riding. They are a little burlier than the freerider pros if you are looking for something with more protection. Been riding them all season and the soles are still in good shape.

Grip & protection without the bulk

If you are a fan of the original impacts, then you'll like these. The impact pros are effectively a streamlined version of the originals. So far, they've offered all of the same protection and perfect amount of grip that sold me on the original impacts but in a lighter, more modernized package. I've already had the pleasure of kicking a few loose rocks while wearing these and my read more feet are no worse off. And, I feel much more connected to the pedals with the pros than I did in the original impacts. These articulate just a hair more and it is a noticeable improvement. Fit is on point. I have a D/E width foot that does not fit super well into most of the recent offerings from five ten, but these have been superb. Toe box has plenty of room and heel hold is great. They still run 1/2 to 1 size small I'd say - I'm size 11 in most shoes and I went with a 12 in the pros. They fit very different from the brick-shaped VXi (which for me is a good thing), and construction is seemingly much better as well. All in all this has been a great shoe that I'll be using for everything from XC to DH riding.
