Five Ten Freerider Cycling Shoe - Women's reviews and deals for sale
The Five Ten Women's Freerider Shoes add subtle styling to technological features made to shred the gnarliest of trails. In a world of neon trimmings and flashy personalities, these shoes are a contrast of muted colors that let your riding skills take center stage.
Five Ten's non-marking Stealth Phantom rubber was developed for rock climbing shoes. As such, it has excellent grip, which makes it super easy to keep your feet on the pedals. Just think, no shinburger for dinner... again. It's also super durable, which isn't a surprise since the climbing shoes it was first developed for had to suffer the wear and tear of hard granite cliffs for hours on end.
The Freerider Shoes may just have a tougher job. They have to endure the prodding from the metal spikes on your pedals all day, but the Stealth Rubber can take it. Five Ten Stealth Rubber soles will outlast the gum rubber sole on a conventional skate shoe every time and stick better to your pedals.
The Women's Freerider Shoes have all the style that you want and the bomber sole that you need to land big tricks without blowing your feet. The uppers are made of brushed leather and mesh panels, and the toe box is reinforced to provide added protection if you lose it in mid-air.

October 16, 2020Love them!
I love this shoe! First wear I notice a big difference with my foot staying on pedals in more technical terrain. Because of the other reviews I read, I ordered and 8.5 and 9 to be sure of fit. I usually wear a size 9 and ended up purchasing the 9 as well. So for me they run true to size.

September 26, 2020Fit WideâHOORAY!
Weâve been on a super quest to find mtb shoes that will work for my teen daughter who wears a 7 extra wide running shoe. These do! She feels theyâre adequately grippy on her flat peddles, and they donât make her feet any hotter than regular sneakers. (Now to see on quality how long theyâll hold up....)

September 2, 2020Structurally Sound as a Flip Flop
These were great at first, but they don't hold up. I have had them for 5 months and they are now as structurally sound as a flip flop. The soles are completely soft and will not hold grip on my OneUp pedals.

August 26, 2020Grippy and Comfy
I got into mountain biking this summer, and these are my first pair of mountain biking shoes. They really do grip the pedals and they're comfortable as well. I also like that the company sells a 10.5 in this shoe because it's not an easy size to find in most shoes. So far I love these shoes and I'd recommend them to anyone getting into mountain biking.

August 22, 2020Helps with Climbs
I thought at first these seemed to run little big but I think if it were any smaller than my toes would have hit the side of the shoe. I am regular width. I had problems like others with my left foot falling asleep but after a few months that stopped. I used to have problems with my foot slipping and getting my skins scrapped up on my pedal but with these great grip and some nuke… read more proof grip pedals, that is no longer a problem. The sturdy soles alone with the sole stick has tremendously helped me with up hill climbs, much more safe with no slip and powerful cranking. Everyone was right about these being an essential especially for very technical riding and up hills. I have used them now on very technical black diamond trails and they were great. I love them.

August 21, 2020Five Ten Women's Freerider Shoes
I'm new to mountain biking, and did not want to get cleated shoes yet. So, I spoke with some friends, read impartial reviews, and bought this shoe. Fits great, true to size, laces tightly and hugs my cleated pedals. Highly recommended.

August 19, 2020Great looking shoe
Bought these for my wife after I bought myself a similar pair of shoes. She ordered her normal size but they are definitely bigger then she expected. We were going to exchange them but after checking around. A half size lower is unlikely right now. That being said they look nice and Iâm hoping once she breaks them in she will enjoy them as much as I do. I may have her try some… read more insoles are some of you have suggested!

August 9, 2020Excellent biking shoe!
This is my first pair of biking shoes and I couldn’t be happier with how much they’ve improved my riding experience. I previously wore running shoes and had issues with my feet slipping off the pedals. I’m also not ready to go for clip-in shoes (maybe some day) so I did some research and landed on this pair. They’ve got 3 features that have made biking better: cushioning,… read more stiffness, and my feet do not budge from the pedals! I get so excited every time I put these on to head out for a ride! For sizing I took an 8 - in regular shoes I’m usually a 7-7.5, running shoes I take an 8.5, so the 8 is the perfect size with lots of room in the toe box. Did some price comparison and Backcountry had the best price. Doesn’t hurt too that they’re an awesome company to buy from!

July 31, 2020Stiff Sole & Comfy Shoe!
For mountain biking, I decided to go with Chester pedals and a good stiff sole shoe instead of toe clips or clipless pedals for easier bailing when necessary. These shoes are awesome on or off the bike! Comfy to wear and sturdy to stick to the pedals. The pins on the Chesters fit nicely in the grooves of the shoe sole. Super sticky! I have had to bail a few times and felt confident… read more in my Freeriders.

July 16, 2020You'll want these!
I adore my freeriders, they're great. I appreciate the stiff soul & love the color. They've held up as I've been beating the crap out of them. I will buy more when these finally go. I bought a size 8 as the 8.5 was much too large. I typically wear 8 to 8.5 in shoes & have narrow feet. 8 is the way to go if you're in that same category.

June 19, 2020Super Plush!
I have been mountain biking for over 30 years and recently decided to try flats due chronic knee pain. These shoes are super comfy and plush and have eliminated most of the knee troubles! They do run a little big. I likely could have returned for a half size smaller, but was not sure how the packing out of the shoe over time vs foot swelling on a ride would play out. I wound… read more up putting another (generic) footbed in each shoe, which took up some of the volume (as other reviewers have pointed out, they are also wide). So far, once I put these on, I totally forget about them so = success!

June 17, 2020runs slightly big for me
510s are definitely the grippier than Giro or Ride Concepts. But I find these to run just a little big and had to size down half a size. They are also a little wide so the amount I have to tighten them kind of squishes the front together and looks funny. But none-the-less, these are my go to riding shoes now!

October 14, 2019five ten shoes
bought for my daughter for days she's a little leery of the clips. Have held up really well, everything I've seen on the five tens has been great in that aspect. The rest here is here opinion on them. They hold to the pins in the pedal really well, really secure feel. Comfortable even on longer or rough rides.

June 11, 2019Amazing
I've been riding for about two years but hadn't made the move to mountain biking shoes - total game changer. Sticky on the pedals and I'm riding with much more confidence!

May 8, 2019Favorite bike shoe
These are my go-to bike shoes. The sole is thick, durable, and grippy. My feet stay on my pedals. The shoes are durable and last a long time. Very comfortable.

March 25, 2019Best choice flat shoe
I have put these to the test on ultra-distance mountain bike and bikepacking rides, and they are without a doubt the most comfortable over the long haul. I have done the same with the Specialized 2FO, the Five Ten Freerider Contact shoes, and the Freerider Pro. Although the others all have stiffer soles, and many would *assume* that would mean better pedaling performance on long… read more rides, what that meant for me is that my feet developed painful sore spots. This never happened with the good old Freeriders. Even though mine are practically falling apart, I choose them for long rides when I have all of these nicer newer looking shoes to choose from. I should have stayed with them, and saved myself a lot of money trying so-called stiffer-soled "better climbers". I never have trouble sliding off of the pedal (as with the 2FO's). The traction is as good as it gets. The negative is that with all sticky-rubber soled shoes, you are going to see them wear more quickly than less sticky rubber. I believe that's just the nature of the rubber compound. It's a trade-off I'm willing to make.

December 14, 2018Stiff Soul
I started mountain biking in trail runners, and thought i could get by like that. My more seasoned pals informed me that i needed to get this pair of shoes, and they were so right. The sole is completely sticky and when i stomp on my pedals they stick where they should. It is also very stiff for a more responsive performance, and help prevent foot fatigue. I love mountain biking,… read more and the first place to start is with your feet. Get these! i wear street shoe size 6.5, and ordered a 6.5 my next pair will be a 7 to accommodate foot swelling in my ride.

June 14, 2018Five Ten Freerider Shoe
Durable MTB shoe that has great grip. I was using running shoes prior and found my feet slipping off the pedals all the time - these shoes have a solid grip and keep you feet where they need to be.

August 21, 2016How does the fit compare to the Giro Petra? In street shoes and in Keens I wear a 6, but in the Petra I took a 37. So confusing.

June 3, 2016I'd like to buy a pair in Size 40 for my daughter. Should I order 7.5, 9 0r 6.5? ie Are the sizes displayed US Mens, US Womens or UK? Ivan
