ENVE Gen 1 Non-Di2 Road Handlebar reviews and deals for sale

Warning: you may not actually want to wrap your ENVE Road Handlebar in any bar tape for a few days after you get it. It’ll probably take a few days of gazing at its lithe carbon silhouette and marveling at its lightness, 205g to be exact, before you’re ready to obscure even the ends of it. Once you’re ready, mount the Road Handlebar onto your bike and start enjoying it as it was meant to be used: as a hardworking, everyday addition to your cockpit.

ENVE went the classic route when shaping the Road Handlebar, ensuring each size was designed to actually feel comfortable to hold for hours at a time on a range of training rides. Choose from short and shallow or traditional shapes based on what works for you, and know that the bars won’t be out of style in a few years when a new, trendy shape emerges. Arrange your brake levers wherever you’d like them, then let the handlebar enjoy an uninterrupted view from the top of your frame by using the recessed cable routing design. Finally, ENVE includes its own integrated bar ends on the Road, once again demonstrating its attention to the small, but important, details that make the difference.

Fantastic!

Super light, compliant, great finish. The short-reach geometry was spot-on for me and the bar tape capturing end cap design is ingenious, simple, and works to perfection. The box was heavier than the bars!

Love it

Upgraded my cockpit and I couldn’t be happier with these bars. Lightweight, with comfortable hand positioning. Bonus points for the little end caps on the end that go over the bar tape.

Fantastic Set of Carbon Bars

Awesome set of carbon bars. They absorb vibration from the road. The bars also help in organizing the cables for a cleaner look. Impressed. Recommended.

Plugs,,, are you kidding me?

The handle bars are ok. So are a lot of others. But, they have the gall to charge $8.00 for the little rubber bar end plugs ( ya know like the ones you get for free with the tape, except those won't fit into the special holes of the expensive bars. Total bull crap!!!

Gravel Grinder

Coming off an aluminum bar, I find that the carbon bar soaks up the vibration on rough roads better than my old bar ever did. Bar runs true to size, center to center measurements. Love the new stealthy black logos! Short and Shallow. Quality product.

Perfect.

I have a history of relying on and praising metal handlebars to friends and family (and strangers). After spending some long miles on the Enve bars I feel like I need to call each and everyone one of those people and apologize and follow up with something like:

Yeah these bars are pricey, but I now have them on all three of my road bikes. Great feel, soak up road vibrations, lightweight snd comfortable. My hands appreciate the purchase.

So Far So Good!

I've only used these bars a few times since I've purchased them, but so far I like everything about them. I would also like to add that the people at Competitive Cyclists are the best. Scott G. was very helpful and when I purchased these bars. I wish that the bike shops near me had more employees like him and all the people at Competitive Cyclists. Thank you! - Kelly

Favorite road bar

This is, hands-down, my favorite handlebar for road bikes. It's unbelievably light and helps create a very smooth ride. My favorite combo is to pair it with the Enve stem... I haven't found a lighter, smoother cockpit to date!

Upgrade now, thank me later.

I knew I was getting a light bar when I ordered, but I was not expecting the cardboard box in which it is packaged to weigh more than the bar itself. I use this in combination with the Enve stem and computer mount. Not only is it light, but it is comfortable. I got the short/shallow 44. The combination with Lizard Skins 2.5mm tape is perfect for me! The road chatter is minimized, read more but the responsiveness is alert. I feel like I can really strangle-hold the bar and yank it through a sprint.

Awesome Bar!

I have put a few thousand miles on this bar, and used it on a century ride. The bar is fantastic. I upgraded from a Cannondale c3 bar that came stock on my CAAD10. For me the tops are perfectly shaped, and the drops provide easy access to the controls, and also keep my wrist in a comfortable position. I am thankful this bar does not have internal cable routing. Internal routing read more does look nice, but its a pain to install, service, and adjust the position of the shifters . Proper cable routing on the handlebar has a significant impact on your shifting performance and the smoothness of your brakes. So its certainly important to pay attention to. I recommend that you purchase the Dura Ace shift and brake cable kits with this bar so you can have housing with that has the correct length. Only thing I wish this bar had was tick marks on the mounts so you can easily adjust the angle of the bar and make sure both shifters are in the same position. You can measure, but it is difficult to measure over the curves.

Great Bars

Super stiff, super light, and my favorite thing about them is they really reduce road vibration. The oval shape makes for comfortable hand position while climbing and out on the grips. I'm very happy with the purchase a great product from enve. 40mm short and shallow

Love them...

Just installed these along with an Enve stem on my Pinarello ROKH. I never really cared for the flat top profile of the Most bars that came on the bike. The short and shallow drop on these is perfect and much more comfortable. Love the slightly oval profile of the tops, much more comfortable for me than the flat top bars. The finish is first rate, the integrated bar end caps read more ensure a nice clean installation of the tape and the cable routing is well done. I've found they do eliminate a lot of the road buzz that was coming through the original aluminum bars, so I'm very happy with these on every level. A top rate product...wouldn't change a thing (although a lower price would be nice!)

YET ANOTHER PERFECT PRODUCT FROM ENVE

ENVE has long since become my favorite bike company. American designed, manufactured and sold (in UTAH), by cyclists, for cyclists. Obviously, ENVE is best known for their wheels but don't nap on their quality carbon components. I have owned several road bars...everything from aluminum to carbon and the ENVE bars are THE BEST I have touched, ridden and/or owned. It starts with the read more bend. Obviously, this is personal preference but I prefer the short and shallow. Next, the integrated bar ends are a nice touch that makes your bar tape disappear. Finally and most important the ride! They are LIGHT, STIFF but yet compliant. They mellow out the rough stuff but remain firm on tough, out-of-the-saddle efforts. I am 5'11" and 170lbs and run a 42" and after approx 4000 miles on them, I feel it is the perfect width. I love these so much on my BMC Mike Nelson (ext 4076) helped me build that I insisted we included the same bars on my recent Niner BSB. These are not cheap but like I always say about ENVE products: if you can afford ENVE, you can't afford to not ride ENVE!!

Great handlebar

These bars are expensive, and I debated about them for a while. I'm glad I decided to go for it. By the specs, they are similar in dimension to other compact bars, but there are some key differences. First, the vibration dampening effect is quite noticeable. (I ride a lot on gravel.) Second, there seems to be a very slight slope to the bars (i.e. not perfectly horizontal on read more the top) that seems to make my positioning feel very natural no matter where I place my hands. Finally, these seem to run slightly wider than other bars of the same spec, which I like.

Best Bar I've Ever Ridden

I've been fortunate enough to own several carbon bars, and several really good ones at that. Previously, ZIPP Countour SL bars were probably my favorite. That all changed when I got my hands on an Enve handlebar and stem. Before even riding the setup, I couldn't help but notice that the finish was far superior to any other cockpit I've seen. The paint work is immaculate, and read more the tolerances for the stem/bar interface is snug but not tight. In terms of the ride, the bars are stiff and efficient, but dissipate road chatter fantastically well. There is a lot of buzz about deflection in bicycle magazine product reviews, and in most cases you are forced to choose between a more compliant bar with greater deflection to absorb bumps, and a stiffer bar with better power transfer. This is a no compromise option, which I suppose should be expected at that price point. The cable routing is nicely done, and the bar end caps are a nice flourish.

Light as a feather, strong as an ox

What a difference this made!!! Awesome handlebar, it really helped level me out and shed probably 6-7 ounces off of my bike weight. It is a little pricey, but if you got some extra cash and wanna update, I'd recommend this one for sure.

Debating on these or the aero bars for my new Tarmac build. I would say I would be swinging more towards comfort than aero, but I really like the aero bars!
