Dynafit Feline Up Pro Trail Running Shoe - Men's reviews and deals for sale

When you're scouting out your next race map your eyes are darting around looking for one thing—hills. Where are they, how many are there, and how much vert do they cover? Whether they fill you with a deep existential dread or give you a competitive edge, hills are an essential part of racing and training on the trail, and no shoe tackles steep mountain trails quite like the Feline Up Pro Trail Running Shoe. New to Dynafit's trail running line, this shoe is all about saving weight and getting you up the hill as efficiently as possible. It weighs in at a lightweight 8 ounces, and features a Vibram Megagrip outsole for tough traction on wet and dry surfaces alike. Thanks to Vibram's Lite Base technology the shoe delivers the same expected performance and traction, at 25% less than its original weight. It also features a Heel Preloader that keeps your heel in place to promote a natural stride and gait, as well as a drawcord lacing system that lets you quickly tighten your shoes on-the-go without having to mess up your heart rate and rhythm too much. The 4mm drop gives you a close-to-ground feel that's perfect for challenging trails and steep terrain, and the minimalist design ensures a secure and comfortable fit.

great

I have dabbled in Dynafit running shoes for a few generations, but never found the right combination of lightness and traction. I am a pretty stable La Sportiva user and recently adopted the VK's. However I run in the dirt, mud fairly often and VK has minimal traction whereas the FUP has great traction. I almost exclusively run steep single track. Really really good on dirt, lichen, read more moss, smooth rocks. Super. Very light. Great closure system that never fails. Mildly challenging to get on; doesn't open wide enough for an old guy like me. I got a second pair to stock up. I love them. The fit is spot on for me, but I have narrow feet. They are my go-to shoe everyday.

Feline Up Pro is a winner

You can tell that this was a shoe made for mountain athletes, not by a road running company trying to adapt it's shoe to the trails. The Feline Up Pro is super light and grippy, making it the perfect shoe for anything steep and technical i.e. trail running in the mountains. I often tear through shoes quickly because I supinate forefoot and run on rugged terrain, but these have held read more up much better than shoes from other popular companies I've used in the past. The thin sole and low drop make it either a short distance shoe, or if you come from a more minimal background it is a great shoe to give you something a little more capable without losing that low to the ground feel. The sole is just rigid enough to offer comfort & protection on uneven terrain but is flexible enough to feel quite natural. I'd consider it a perfect option for someone either looking for the best combination or light weight, traction, and durability or someone who prefers a minimal shoe and needs something more ready for mountainous terrain.

Fast. So darn fast!

The next generation of light and fast shoes from Dynafit. I love these. They make climbing easier and technical descents more precise. The perfect sky-running shoe. I've had these shoes since mid-summer and I've done several mid-distance races and trained in them for nearly 250 miles. The lightness allows for great turn over, especially on steep climbs and also provides for a read more great freedom of movement on steep descents. The 4mm drop keeps me running naturally on my forefoot, and when combined with very minimal foam cushioning, helps me feel the rocks I'm running over. The narrow last also keeps my foot snug inside the shoe. Less movement equals less opportunity for blisters! These shoes could easily be used for 50K or greater distances, however, I've felt right at home in the marathon distance with these guys. Zero foot fatigue. No soreness, even though they are minimal, and plenty of durability. I haven't had any issues with the mesh upper coming apart, or the sole of the shoe losing life yet. Pretty impressive. I'd say I could easily get 350 miles out of a pair. Not bad considering how rocky and technical the trails are where I'm training. If you like a minimal design. If you like a very light shoe. If you like going fast uphill. This is your shoe.

Feline Up Pro

I got these shoes at the beginning of the summer and have used them for about four months now and roughly 200 miles. Overall these are a well constructed, lightweight mountain running shoe that excels in steep, technical terrain. Probably the most eye catching feature of these bad chickens is the weight, or lack there of. When you're cruising uphill you barely feel them on your read more feet, something that I personally really like in a shoe. They still do a have a decent about of foam under your foot though and I haven't had an issue with rocks poking my sole. The fit is pretty snug on the upper which I feel contributes to a more agile and nimble feel when I am running. The outer is super grippy both on soft and hard ground thanks to some nice sticky rubber (megagrip I think) and an aggressive lug patten. Durability is always a major issue for me and after a summer of heavy racing on these shoes I am very pleased with how well they have held up, especially for such a light shoe. As of yet I have no tears or rips in the upper and the foam still feels pretty good and not packed out. The longest distance I have put on them in one go is probably around 20 miles and they felt great. Having said that these are definitely a light weight shoe with a low drop, minimal padding and probably best suited for shorter distances. Overall Dynafit has made a really cool shoe that excels at conquering steep mountain terrain. Plus they look sweet and are guaranteed to make you at least 20% faster!
