While it is great for shorter hikes(6-7) miles, it gives me a terrible blister on the back of my heel every-time I do a longer hike..The shoes are comfortable, ventilates well. You socks could get pretty dusty with the ventilation holes on the side. Plenty of traction for all conditions. I use these for shorter hikes and use the mountain 600 for any longer hikes. Great lightweight shoe. A little narrow, so I am glad I ordered a 1/2 size up. Not for people with high arches.
