Better option out there

Could be great, but didn't work for me. I tried packing it several different ways. Sending it back for few reasons. First, you have to pack this thing full so it doesn't fold. Size as close to your skis as possible. It's not rigid at all. If there is any room it bends at the handle causing excessive dragging on the wheeled end. Second, love the internal bags pack bags, but it read more could use a could of internal lashing straps. Your gear will slide around alot. Backing your boots at one end makes for unbalanced weight and if you want to pick it up by the side the small handle just doesn't work at all. It could use a detachable side strap to help this issue. I've decided to return it and get a boot pack and ski bag instead of trying to jam everything into one bag. I know it will be easier to travel with than this set up for me. Plus, because you have to pack it out to work, it gets heavy quick.

Great bag so far

I've only used this bag once but it worked great for my last big trip. Lots of pockets for all your stuff and you can really fit a lot in it. The only thing that would be nice, which somebody mentioned is straps to hold your skis in place.

Large bag, good quality

Used my new Boundary ski bag on its first trip, and other than my carry-on (helmet, goggles, & electronics), I was able to fit almost everything (ski equipment and clothing for a 5 day trip) in the bag and was barely under the 50 lbs limit. My personal hygiene bag was the only thing I had to put in a separate suitcase. I do wish it had straps to hold the skis, but my rolled clothing read more provided padding to keep everything from shifting. I did put pipe insulation tubing on the ski edges to protect the skis from rubbing and protect my clothing. Glad I bought this bag instead of a smaller bag.

best ski bag

This bag is nice and large so that'll it will fit all of your gear! No need for any other bags. The padding is nice and thick to keep your skis and boot protected.

Missing straps to hold skis in place

Big bag can hold a lot of gear. However, it's missing straps to hold the skis in place. I couldn't get over my sticks banging against each other for long transcontinental trips with rough baggage handlers on multiple connections. (Last bag was torched by airline literally dragging zippers along tarmac - they look like they were sanded down!) Instant return after I looked in read more the box.

Carrys so much you can't fly with it all

This bag will fit more than you can check on a flight without getting charged for an over sized bag fee. Two pairs of skis, a pair of boots, some poles and your avy kit will pretty much hit 50 lbs. I still have room to put lots clothes which is great for car trips. Once you have wheels on your bag you'll never want an over the shoulder setup again. As noted below the bag doesn't read more have as many compartments as before, but it still work really well. It does still come with a boot bag and clothes bag for organization, plus you can always add your own. The extra handles on this model are super convenient for man handling this bag when you have it loaded down. The upper handle makes it easy to shorten the effective length when moving through crowded airports, train stations, etc

Large bag for long adventures

I recently took this bag in a BC ski trip. At 200cm, I was able to fit two large skis (196 each), poles, helmet, boots, gloves and other ski clothes. The wheels made it easy to pull around. I highly recommend this bag.

All you need

This bag is great for transporting all of your ski gear. I was able to pack in all gear needed to ski (two people) except goggles and helmet.

Dakine cutting corners again

This bag lost one of its most important features for its 2017 update. View the images in this blog post: http://offpistemag.com/roller-ski-bags/ It had an additional flap plus straps to tie down the skis and poles. I called Dakine and asked them why they did this and they just mentioned that their design team thought it was a better design. Same price as last year, less features, read more hard to trust Dakine at this point...

First impressions

I haven't traveled with this bag yet, but it is clearly well thought out. Room for skis, boots and outerwear with removable modules. Seems beefy and well padded.

Travel Just Got So Much Easier!

I've been a fan of Dakine for a while now. I'm still using my Heli Pro pack daily after over 13 years. I was so impressed with my backpack and Dakine's warranty policy I picked up a boot bag a couple years ago. It's served me really well, but I'm heading out to Japan in February for a ski trip and needed a way to travel with all my gear. I bought the 185 cm bag and was able to comfortably read more fit my 179 cm Line Blend's, 185 cm 4FRNT YLE's, poles, boots, outerwear, and some ski tuning supplies. The tuning supplies tucked away nicely in the exterior pocket. It comes with removable boot back to keep your liners away from wet skis. I had enough room after getting my boots in that I was able to lay two coats, pants, goggle's, helmet, and mitts on top of the skis. Should make life a lot easier getting through the airport and train stations now that I can fit everything in one bag.

What's the difference between this and the Dakine Fall Line bag? What justifies this being so much more expensive?
