Absolutely Amazing

My brother uses a different version of Crescent Moon for snowshoe running and he swears by this company. When I told him I was buying snowshoes he basically forced me to get a pair of Crescent Moons (I still remember when he told me to get the Atari Lynx instead of the Gameboy, a decision that to this day, I still regret) But I'm glad I heeded his advice. These snowshoes are absolutely read more amazing. I personally find them incredibly light, they maintain their grip, and the binding system is top notch and easily accommodates various boots and shoe sizes while still snugly securing your feet. Yesterday, I just used these to head up the steep hills of an abandoned ski resort off Guanella Pass in CO--and they performed amazing well. I don't know why this brand isn't written about more, as they make a truly great product. I haven't used these extensively as I would like, so I can't attest to their durability--but my brother has put over a thousand miles on his own pair and they're still being used. Keep it up Crescent Moon!

Crescent Moon Gold 10 picked as top

3. Crescent Moon Gold 10 ($279) Crescent Moon Gold 10 snowshoes Type: Backcountry Length: 32 in. Weight: 4 lbs. 15 oz. What we like: Made in the U.S.A. and best-in-class binding comfort. What we don’t: Traction falls a little short on steep inclines. Women’s version: Crescent Moon Gold 15 The Crescent Moon Gold 10 is a beefed-up and longer backcountry version of read more the popular Gold 9 above. In addition to five more inches of length, it shares a similar stainless steel traction system but with an extra set of claws near the ball of your foot. The teardrop design remains and is great for active snowshoers that really like to move. The Gold 10 still isn't as grippy or light as the MSR Lightning Ascent above, but it handles a wider variety of terrain from trails to powdery rolling hills and moderate ascents. Keep in mind that these shoes can only handle hikers up to 225 pounds in average snow conditions, so larger folks or those carrying a lot of equipment may want to consider the expedition grade Gold 17 (37 inches long and can handle up to 300 pounds). The Gold 17 is overkill for recreational snowshoeing but can handle off-trail use through deep snow with relative ease. As with all Crescent Moon Gold Series snowshoes, the 10 is made in the U.S.A. and comes with a lifetime warranty. Great but missing crampon...

Great snowshoe but it was missing a crampon on one of the snowshoes so I returned it. It is now out of stock so had to grab it from somewhere else.

Personal best choice of snowshoe

This is by far the best snowshoe i have ever used for back country access while snowboarding. the ratchets and the boot compatible binding are incredibly easy to use and will adjust to any size snowboard boot. care free in terms of maintenance, and you rarely have to worry about popping out of the binding while hiking. the main (and only) problem i have run into is finding a pack read more that makes for easy carrying of the shoes while you're on your board. A major plus for me, the candy apple red model always puts a smile on my face when i look down at my feet. The color of this shoe beats any other model i have seen. feel free to ask any questions
