Continental Competition Tire - Tubular reviews and deals for sale

The Continental Competition tires are hand-sewn in Germany and feature a three-ply construction for the ultimate in durability. The threads per square inch come in at 180, and they can be inflated to as high as 170psi. In addition to all those threads, the tire employs Continental’s Vectran technology, a liquid crystal polymer, to minimize punctures and prevent the dreaded walk of shame. If you’re wondering how the Competition will hold the corners in your next crit, well, the rubber contains a silica compound to grip even the slickest road surfaces.

Better tubulars out there

Disappointed in the ride quality - not very supple, even at a lowish-for-me 100psi. Seem to roll out fast and corner okay, but I find some of the Veloflex or Vittoria offerings superior...and at a lower price. Not a bad thing these fit on the tight side - just prestretch and warm them up a little beforehand. I managed 1,800 miles with a midway rotation. No punctures.

Go to tubulars hands down!

I've tried many different brands and by far these are one of the best out there. They're tough and withstand a lot of road debris. I've punctured once since riding on these and I'm on my third pair. They WILL be extremely tough to mount if you do not folllow the instructions. PRE-STRETCH on wheels for 24hrs to 48hrs before applying glue for final install or else you will end up read more like Corey S. that gave these an unjust review. Can't go wrong with these. They are very well made, look fantastic and grip like crazy.

Crap Tires

I making my patriotic duty as an American as they must have some small ass rims in Germany. These are a god dam nightmare to mount and I am not joking you need to be Conan or some other muscle bound ass to mount these things. Not good when your a puny cyclist that has little to no upper body strength after long periods of caloric deficit. DO NOT BUY EVER spend the extra dough on read more a better tire that mounts properly.
