Good, all around harness

I bought this initially for ice climbing as a new climber. I attached the ice clippers with not too much effort. This past summer, began rock climbing indoor and outside and has been comfortable and sturdy for both. Is comfortable multi-purpose harness. I use for alpine too, but am thinking about getting something lighter. Have been able to remove ice clippers as well. I bought read more a size M, I have a 29” in waist, 40” in hips, 5’9”, 155 lbs. I can cinch the waist down securely for summer and have ample space to accommodate 3-4 layers for winter.

BD Missed the Mark

I really wanted to like this harness, I did. But BD simply missed the mark with this model. They got rid of the burly haul loop at the back for a flimsier, less useful version. The gear loops are smaller. The 5th gear loop isn't a standard gear loop. And the fit. I've been climbing in BD harnesses for 10 years, I've always been a size small. The small in the Technician was wayyy read more to large in the waist, what gives? I was thinking maybe it was sized to fit over layers, but even then. The waist fit and leg fit is plain funky. Not sure why it changed for this years' model. It is certainly light and minimalist, but I couldn't get past the odd fit. Possibly designed for someone with a larger waist and smaller legs and a very short torso? I hope they make a better harness for alpine/ice use next year.

She loved it!

Bought this as a gift for a friend and I have to say: this is one gorgeous looking harness. Not too bulky, clean straight lines and modern materials makes this harness standout from the crowd.....I'm also told that it will keep you from dying but I leave that kind of knowledge up to the experts

How does the Technician compare to the old Lotus harness (fit, size of gear loops, etc)? Thanks!
