December 9, 2020Good For a Climb up Armstrong to Mid
I haven't used it yet as I purchased it the end of the season and the trails are covered in snow. Plenty of space for everything you need on a typical PC ride. This definitely has better organization the the Patagonia Nine Trails one I have been using and slightly bigger water bottle holders on the side. Only downside compared to the Patagonia one is that it doesn't come with a… read more dedicated hydration pack or a place to hook the hydration pack tube to if you choose to add one.

I love how much I can fit in here. I love having multiple water bottles on long ride and all the gear I might need like multiple tubes, pump, Co2, bacon, stanz, chain links and multitools. I can fit my pads on the outside for uphill climbs easily. This pack is comfortable on my back.

November 1, 2020Pack seems cool, but waist belt is small
Not really a product rating, more of a size warning. Have to return it as it won't fit anything over about a 36 inch waist. Should have heeded the other reviewer who mentioned the small waist size.

October 19, 2020Review of Midmountain 2L Hip Pack
I hopped on Backcountry.com in search of a pack to use while mountain biking. I looked no further than the Mid Mountain pack! As soon as I saw it, I knew that was exactly what I wanted. This pack has the use for multiple outdoor activities. I also use it while going for short day hikes. It has just enough storage and hydration pockets needed to become the perfect little hike pack… read more as well! I am sure I will end up using this pack for more uses in the near future. Super stoked to have this pack, and super stocked to see the Backcountry brand releasing such awesome products!

September 15, 2020Multifunctional
I used this hip pack in a 100 mile speed hike, some much shorter day hikes, and mountain biking. I like its versatility and the space I get in what looks to be a small container. Fits 2 32-oz bottles. I also like how tight it can wrap around my waist; I am fairly small and this is the only hip bag that I can secure without the pain of it bouncing all around.

July 1, 2020Great hip pack
It holds just what I need for shorter day hikes. It holds my bottles securely and I like having my phone secure but easily accessible for quick photos. The belt buckle broke on my first one and BC replaced quickly.

May 27, 2020A tad too small. Straps + zip don't work
The thought is there but you can't actually strap a jacket on and use the zippers if you cinch it down which is a critical flaw. I bought this because I thought I could hold a jacket on the outside and access the innner pocket without removing the jacket. This is not possible because the cincing affects the zip closure. too bad...so close yet so far.

May 26, 2020Don't ride without it
Wanted something that could easily carry the essentials while being lightweight and comfortable. Storage is well thought out and I don't have to deal with my tools and co2 rattling around my whole ride.

May 26, 2020Bottle pouches can not be tightened
I really wanted to love this pack and do in almost every way. It is extremely comfotable and you will forget it is there. The one thing keeping this from being perfect is not having any type of leash or collar for your water bottles. I specifically bought this for summer to carry the extra bottles but after about 60 miles wearing it I do not trust the bottle holders, especially… read more on a one way flow or rowdy decent. (Backcountry if you add leashes I will buy another in a heartbeat). With that said it is fine for recreational XC or a family ride and probably perfect for hiking. I am returning it and trying an Osprey Savu 4L next because it has the dual bottle holders and they have leashes and is also reasonably priced for Osprey.

May 22, 2020Great Features
I'm an Urban dad who bike commutes and during the stay at home order wanted something that would allow me to carry some basic's while taking my 3yr old son for bike rides around the neighborhood. Water, hand sanitizer, extra masks, etc. Turned out this little pack can also handle a windbreaker on the outside. Was amazed by the amount of organization it provided. Found it incredibly… read more comfortable even when fully loaded. No issue's while riding a bike. The only issues I found was regarding the straps and buckle. The buckle is offset, which is great, but it's tucked so far into the padding it's difficult to unbuckle/buckle. And although it fits my 34" waist there isn't much strap left over. I'd be concerned if I was a 36"+. A little more length would also allow you to wear it over your shoulder like a messenger bag.

May 11, 2020Great Hip Pack!
Excellent pack, holds two 26 oz water bottles securely. straps stay tight, and the packs feels very secure. I do wish it held a little more in the main compartment. It's large enough for wallet/keys/phone, plus multi tool, patch kit & snacks. Don't think a spare tube would fit. So far the construction of the pack appears to be top notch. Would recommend it for a half day ride.… read more Great alternative to a hydration pack, but probably won't hold quite as much. Don't plan on packing a lunch in it.

May 4, 2020Very good, one gripe
32" waist It took a little tinkering, but once I got the straps tightened correctly it disappeared on my back. I carry a multi-tool, Leatherman Freestyle, 2 CO2 + inflator, tubeless plugs, spare link, couple of zip ties, small Lezyne HV, dog poop bags, and my phone. There's enough room left for a tube or snacks if needed. One thing I would change is switch the zippered pocket… read more with the loops, and have 1 big loop with 2 small loops. This would let you put a pump in the big loop and have it sit in the widest part of the pack when closed. Having the loops on the bottom means it folds into the narrower part which isn't quite wide enough for my pump, which I have free-floating right now. Not a deal-breaker though.
