Backcountry Active Utility Pant - Men's reviews and deals for sale

Somewhat similar to that multi-tool you keep in its back pocket, the Backcountry Tech Cargo Pant can serve many a purpose. This technical-driven pant features quick-drying fabric that's breathable and stretchy, so whether you're on the trail, setting up camp, or reaching for that next foothold, you'll find comfort and mobility. Two zippered cargo pockets come in handy for stashing small essentials, and snaps at the ankles help reduce bulk if you're doing some fancy footwork at the crag.

Partner loves them!

These pants are the best. They are attractive and functionable. My partner wears them on hikes and for everyday use, work, running errands and more. Love the color and the fit.

My new fav pants

These pants are so great. The fit is perfect. The fabric is slightly thicker, softer, and warmer than similar pants I own. Just the right amount of stretch. The brown I purchased is lighter than pictured, which is actually a plus for me. I was skeptical about the goofy looking pockets, but they’re not as noticeable in person and I’ve found them quite functional. Buy these, you read more won’t regret it.

Great Camp pants

Awesome pants for every day basecamp kind of us. Durable, comfy and stretch easily. Fits nicely into the category of "not too puffy and not too lightweight"

Great Outdoor Pants

I wear these to work out on the golf course, hiking, climbing, biking, and whenever I can because they are super comfortable. Was a little hesitant about the thigh pockets at first but they actually look great and are more appealing than your traditional cargo pants pockets. They have a great flexibility to them and are decently water resistant. I own both colors and would love read more to see more colors come out.

Crag essential pants!

Preface: I am an honorary backcountry Gearhead, these pants were provided to me, but here is my personal experience with them. When it comes to pants for a climber, it is pretty simple: they need to fit and they need to be usable in climbing environments. For me, I have added complexity of huge, tree trunk thighs, made from years of basketball, football, mountaineering, and snowboarding. read more Combined with a short 29 inseam, there are very few pants I can fit. Most all will end up with a hole in the crotch a few climbs in. Lucky for me, these pants fit the bill - literally. Stretchy enough to accommodate my thighs and the buttons on the bottom helped with my inseam. Fit, check. As far as utility goes, that’s where the thigh zip pockets come in. With a harness on, I have full access to these pockets. Which is super helpful to stash a phone, snacks, or some accessories while roped up! The pic I attached to this review is from a day of ascending ropes and learning climbing photography whilst dangling. Grab these pants, true to your waist size, and enjoy!

DIFFERENT!

I know the title is a bit cryptic but hope to explain why. First let me say the rating is a tentative one because this item had to be returned as it ran quite a bit too large (ordered 36 and it might have fit a 38). I've never owned pants that had material even resembling that used in these. The 12% spandex makes them amazingly stretchy. The material does feel fairly light and only read more time would tell if it was durable. I never got a chance to utilize the "cargo" pockets but could not figure out exactly what I would have used them for. They did seem overly bulky and am not sure that the angle at which they're placed would not cause items to fall out when opened. Yes, more colors would be nice. I'm not sure if I'll reorder a smaller size.

Amazing - More Colors PLEASE

These pants are excellent value. Please, on behalf of all of us, make more colors. Tan, Brown, Olive, Jet Black. I'd buy 'em all. Thanks for creating a great product.

4+ stars

True to size, but tight in the legs. If you have muscular legs, they fit like skinny jeans. That's not my style, and the zipper thigh pockets are a little unattractive. That said, since I've had them, I've done a full leg day in them, a couple miles in central Texas brush, and a couple predawn motorcycle rides, and I'm impressed. They move well, stretch so the tapered fit doesn't read more restrict, don't ride up, and breathe well, for being virtually waterproof, and as well as they cut the wind. Also, the ugly zipper pockets are my favorite style and placement for utility. Way easier to get in and out of, sitting. The snap closure on the ankles is a nice touch. Wish there was a lighter natural color, and I wish I could wear them out with a nice shirt, but they're solid outdoor pants. Edit: they didn't withstand abrasion against rocks very well. Scraped several holes through the material, and into me, in an afternoon exploring cliffs and rock slides.

So Many Activities

It was a Saturday evening, we were playing Triominos, its a game like dominos but the pieces are triangles hence the name. I was impatiently waiting for my pants to show up in my mail. It was around 4pm, central standard time, when to my surprise the mail lady showed up to our house! I jumped for joy and ran to the mailbox. I ripped into the packaging and felt the materials... for read more way too long. I looked at the pockets, the seams, the buttons on the bottom on the leg. Finally it was time to put them on. I was taken aback while I was buttoning them up. The fit, the comfort, the feel. My oh my how they made me feel 5 years younger. I could bend, move, flex, and stretch with ease. They are very light weight, and stretchy. They fit like a jogger but perform like yoga pants. Amazing. 5 stars aren't enough for the way that these pants cup my buttocks.

Finally found the perfect pants.

I do a lot of long distance technical-hiking, usually in awful weather conditions as well as rough terrain. From my time using Arc’teryx to Marmot, I’ve realised the prices were getting tough to keep up with. I couldn’t believe how affordable these pants were; little did I know how undeniably perfect they would be. Tough material, SUPER lightweight, no moving restrictions, read more 2-zippered cargo. Slim fit so you won’t be bothered by harnesses or repelling blind-spots. My only complaint would be the lack of colours offered. I went with Pirate Black, will surely end up getting the other one too. Don’t believe me on how perfect these are? Find out for yourself; guaranteed to not disappoint.

over designed pockets on side

Pants fit great, loved the stretch, felt super comfortable which is why it was such a disappointment that i had to return as they had the UGLIEST redundant zip pockets in the front below the regular pockets. Please, please, redesign and eliminate those 2 pockets. (maybe just put one pocket with a zipper on the back thigh (kuhl does this but they dont have a zipper so your phone read more can fall out). Runs true to size.

Versatile

I am the kind of guy who wears the same pants in almost any outfit! So, I need a pant that offers both comfort and durability. *The only problem: sometimes it seems to be a compromise between the two. Denim can feel stiff and doesn't breathe, but isn't warm. Cargo pants have useful pockets, but feel ridiculous. Sweats are. . . sweaty and too heavy. So, what's a guy like read more me supposed to wear?? THESE. The double weave construction makes them strong enough to handle anything, while the spandex/polyester blend doesn't feel too heavy or thick. They are comfy and amazing to move in. If you prefer a tighter cuff or need to pull them up - BOOM - just adjust the snaps. +Awesome colors, subdued and earthy (though they could use a light grey).
