Backcountry Access Tracker S Avalanche Beacon reviews and deals for sale
Backcountry Access's Tracker S Avalanche Beacon is a slightly stripped down version of BCA's Tracker 3 Transceiver for the backcountry skier on a budget. That's not to say BCA took away any of the beacon's safety features; the Tracker S still boasts an impressive 50 meter search on a reliable triple antenna design. The digital display still gives a directional arrow once a signal is received and distance readout (displayed in meters) so you can quickly find the lowest reading before starting a pin-point search with your probe. If multiple victims are buried, the Tracker3's Signal Suppression and Big Picture modes allow you to gather a quick sense of how many transmitters are in the area and suppress the closest signal once it has been located, allowing you to move on to the next victim while your partners begin probing and digging. The only differences between the Tracker S and the Tracker 3 are the motion-sensing auto revert and ability to upgrade.

November 29, 2019Does anyone have a good read on what the auto-revert feature is like on this model? Sans the motion-sensor, does it just behave like a T2? I've read about the functionality of the T3 (auto revert after one minute of non-movement, also after 5min of movement), but does the Tracker S just auto revert after a shorter amount of time without motion sensor input?
