Waiting for Exchange....

Great jacket, ultra lightweight. Long sleeves, but that should help with layering. Only issue: Backcountry sent me a jacket embroidered with a "Deerfield CEO Conference" on the right sleeve. Even though they are making it right with an exchange, this should not have happened. Hence my 4 star review--not for the jacket but for this error by Backcountry which they should have caught. read more I wanted to alert others to this issue, and prod Backcountry to remove from their stock these embroidered jackets, which should have been done already.

a bit stiff and strange fit

First impressions Fit is a bit bulky with strangely long sleeeeeevs :-) literally compared to the number of tech and soft shells in the same size this is super long about an inch longer than Black Diamond Dawn Patrol LT (the older style with Schoeller fabric and Nanoshere DRW) which is quite long sleeved :-) Can not share enthusiams of the others as material feels a bit wooden read more and stiff even in moderate temperatures i.e. Patagonia H2No with is 3 Layers feels less stiff in IMHO No internal pockets

Rain, Snow, Hail, No problem

I went to the Bugaboos for a climbing trip for two weeks and this had no issue with the changing weather. Great room for layering under, along with durable enough for when you're doing technical climbing! For when the sun would come out for those short periods it was great to store in a side pocket, then whip out when it would rain again. I have never loved a rain jacket like this read more before! This is by far the best rain jacket on the market and getting something that won't hold me back from what I love to do makes this jacket stand out from the rest.

Lightweight jacket for all-season travel

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. The Arc'teryx Zeta SL jacket is an extremely lightweight, packable, GORE-TEX shell that's proven to be awesome for my hiking and backpacking needs. So far I've taken it out day hiking around Marin Headlands, and backpacked with it for 4 days through Yosemite. I weighed it before putting it in my pack read more and was stoked it was only 11 oz. I tried out a size L which fit well. For reference, I'm 6 ft tall and 190 lbs in case that helps with fit. I noticed that the sleeves run a bit long but the velcro straps really help taper the end of the sleeve so that it doesn't go past my wrist. It fits awesome through the chest, shoulders and waist. Sometimes it's hard for me to find something that doesn't puff out in the middle, so I appreciated that this jacket takes both fit and function into consideration. Even though this is considered a super lightweight jacket, it feels more durable. Had no issues wearing it under my backpack for several days in the backcountry. The arm straps from my backpack showed no wear on the jacket so I feel like it'll hold up well in other seasons too. Super impressed with the quality and really dig the dark teal color, Labyrinth. All in all would highly recommend the Arc'teryx Zeta SL jacket.

delightfully light!

This Jacket is astoundingly light while still offering all the weather protection that is expected out of a Gore-Tex shell. Its never a question of if you want to bring it along or not because it is so small and light you might as well bring it. Simple quality construction that i have come to expect from Arc'teryx

Light and Dry

I used this jacket for 3 early summer weeks in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Austria, and Slovenia. Unfortunately, many days contained some rain and wind. Fortunately, I had this as my only jacket. Wow, this thing was solid. It packs and compresses super small when you don't need it, but then keeps you dry during sustained storms too. The front pockets aren't immense, but they are read more still large enough to hold everything you need. One day, I even fit my Lumix GX85 in the pocket while it was storming. The zipper was easy to get up and down, the hood was adjustable, the cuffs and waist as well. Not sure what else you could ask for. If I had a single gripe with it, it would have to be how it wears when unzipped. the way the hood/chin are cut, you get big flops of fabric that sit awkwardly. Seeing as this is meant to be more of an emergency jacket that is not worn unzipped, I can get why that doesn't really matter. Didn't really get any pics of the fit, but here is a selfie!

the king of rain shells

If you have ever worn Arc'teryx then you understand how seriously they take construction of their products. If you haven't worn Arc'teryx then know that you won't find a brand that takes the design of their product to as high of a level. They made this jacket for the rain, with a gore 2-layer/paclite makeup so that you can compress it and pack it. SL standing for super light makes read more this product all you would ever need for a backpack, climb, hike, or biking trip. Look no further and make the long term investment not only in a good jacket but your happiness on the trail.

Rain Jacket to end all rain jackets

In my own search for a rain shell, after literally HOURS of looking for one with all the features I needed and wanted I finally decided this was the one for me. I basically have a PhD in rain jackets at this point. This is the best one we sell for around town/hiking/backpacking, easily. I struggled to find a rain shell that was goretex, but still had front pockets, but had a standard read more hood, not a helmet hood. This rain shell was the answer. If you have found yourself with a similar issue, let this be the last rain shell you buy!

Quality and Simplicity

Arc'teryx is known for being a no nonsense quality brand and this jacket is a great example of the fit and finish of the brand. The fit of this jacket is wider in the the shoulders, narrow around the hips with some extra room around the waist area. I'm 5'5" and the size small has sleeves that are a little long but the body of the jacket goes down right past my waist. Its a comfortable, read more simple jacket with quality materials. I feel like i could use this jacket for every activity that I do because its so versatile. .

Light and Sturdy

It's too warm in Utah to wear anything insulated during my winter activities! This jacket is perfect for warm spring resort days, and weekends in the backcountry. I LOVE the color and the jacket can pack down to nothing for an extra waterproof layer in my daypack. It's a bit big because I bought a Men's jacket but my brother borrowed it on his ski visit to Utah and was so pleased!

Should I size up if I’m only expecting to wear a wool sweater as a mid layer?

How is the room in the toe box narrow or wide? I have Sidi Ergo 2 and my toes get numb after 4 hours on the bike. Are these narrow like the Sidis?
