Runs huge

A bunch of 5'11" people saying a small fit them perfect isn't a good fit. I'm 5'6" and have been wearing small Arc'teryx jackets for 8 years. I got this jacket in a small and can't operate any if the zippers because it's so baggy.

Great jacket, weird sizing

Got this jacket mainly for sidecountry and backcountry skiing. echo all of the great things other have said about it. One thing I think is key to point out. This jacket runs small, and the arms are long. I wear a size M for just about everything I buy from T-shirts to parkas. Size M was huge on me, so I returned it for a small. Even with a small, the arms are really long. read more When I am skinning up, I have to roll the sleeves back so that they do not getting caught between my hand and pole. Would give 5 stars if the sleeves were a better fit, annoying to have to roll them on a jacket of this price.

Great All Around Jacket

This is a perfect compromise between weight and durability for me. It is light enough that I use it touring, but burly enough to use all year round at the resort as well without being afraid of ruining it or having too much wind get through as it does with some super light touring shells. Pockets/features are all pretty standard, but well placed and thought out. Fit and quality read more is the same greatness you're used to if you've had other Arc'teryx jackets. If you haven't, definitely give this a shot or find one to try on. They're just plain nice. And in my experience last plenty long to justify the extra cost if it's in your budget. At 6' 195lbs a Large is a nice snug fit, but since I wanted to use this for resort skiing too I went for XL because I like extra room for comfort/layers. The size is still not problematic when hiking/touring, but if you're 6' and want a snug fit definitely go L or M, whatever you generally do for ski jackets, I'd say it is very true to size.

Worth the price

This jacket is awesome. I read countless reviews and tested the jacket in a store nearby to asses it’s size and features. The size is fairly true to normal standards. I don’t like loose clothing, so I purchased a small. For me it’s still big enough to use with 3 layers (base, fleece, and down jacket.) I used it 2 days on opening weekend this year. Once in a storm read more that was dumping, and another on a blue bird day. When it was dumping and I was crushing new lines in powder, it kept me warm and dry. On the blue bird day I worked up a sweat and opened the vents to cool off quickly. It doesn’t feel heavy, and is relatively quiet thanks to the C-Knit Gore Tex. For those that want a best in class jacket, look no further. This is the one.

Love This Jacket So Far

After 15 years, I finally retired my old worn out North Face jacket. I own an Arc'teryx windbreaker that I use for work trips, and I love the fit and functionality of it. I finally pulled the trigger this last weekend at the Backcountry warehouse and bought the Sabre LT in firecracker color in a size large. I got to test it out these last two days during our April snowstorm. read more These were perfect conditions to try out a shell like this, because it was a mix of very high winds, rain, ice pellets, and snow. First of all, the fit of this jacket is similar to my other Arc'teryx. I am 6ft 1in, 195lbs, and cursed with orangutan arms. In most manufacturers sizes, I wear a size large, but often times the sleeve length is not long enough. The thing I like about Arc'teryx is they make their jacket arm sleeves plenty long so I do not have to size up to an XL and end up with a baggy jacket. The size large in this shell fits me perfectly. You will read some reviews that talk about the bottom of this jacket fitting tight around the hips. I did not find that to be an issue, and even though I like to think I am an athletic build, my mid 40s dad bod is probably average to slightly above average in hip with. This jacket fit me with no problems The jacket performed perfectly in the spring storm that I skied in over the last two days. As expected, with Gore-Tex, it had no problems with rain, ice pellets, or snow in keeping me dry. What surprised me, however, is how well this shell blocks the wind. Even skiing downhill directly into a 20+ knot wind, this shell blocks the wind like a wall. As for functionality and fit while using the jacket, I found no restriction of movement skiing the spring powder in the trees or hauling ass on the groomers. I am also happy that this thing does not sound like a truck tarp in the wind when you are going fast. Overall, I am very happy with the shell after using it for two days. I was a little wary of the firecracker color, and the orange portion is bright as hell, but my wife says she really likes the color and the way it looks. Maybe she is just saying that to be nice, but at this point I like it too.

Durable Jacket

Used this for my first time skiing. so had the chance to test its durability and ability to repel water repeatedly--haha. Great for unrestricted movement--granted I wasn't doing anything overly athletic while I was out there.

High quality and fits well

I'm 5'9 and consider to be medium build as I work out regularly at the gym, so this jacket fits me well, except the sleeves a bit long and the jacket is designed for big mountain skiing, so the body is a bit long compared with other Arc'teryx models and it has been proved this is a good design when you fell in deep powder. I wore it during a recent trip to Squaw/Alpine and for read more two days, it was snowing and raining at the base, the jacket kept me dry and worm. Only problem? well, there are couple of people wearing the same color as mine...

Perfect All Mountain Shell

Love the Sabre LT. In many ways I prefer it over the regular Sabre. I appreciate the chest pocket . Slightly lighter weight without the Sabre's flannel lining but the jacket is supple and built tough. The sizing is dead on with other Arcteryx shells. I disagree that this shell runs large. Any smaller and it would be tight and restrictive when worn with a decent midlayer.

Spectacular Shell

Got a chance to ride with this jacket for 2 weeks and I absolutely love it. I typically ride with the Arcteryx Rush, but I actually found the face fabric on the Sabre LT to feel softer to the touch and a bit more comfortable. Great pocket placement for your pass and other essentials. As with all Arcteryx shells, I found the Sabre to be completely waterproof. The fit was actually read more a little baggier than the Rush, which I actually liked, but it should not matter as far as sizing the jacket for your self. I'm 5'8'' and the small fit me great.

What more do you need?

This shell is awesome. I recently used it on a quick tour before work and usually never wear my shell for the ascent, but the weather was blowing and snowing and I needed the extra protection. Opening the pit zips really helped to dump some heat and I was surprised how breathable the shell was. It has just the right amount of pockets, and I love that it includes a pass pocket read more on the sleeve. The fit was comfortable and roomy, I would say you could size down as it does run a little larger than I would like. The color is great too, bright enough to be found in the trees from your buddy. Highly recommend!

Killer Jacket

I got this jacket and I have been so pleased. It has handled great in all conditions. I have been skiing in it about 5 times and I am just so pleased with how it has performed. The venting on it is phenomenal an works really well. If you are looking for a killer shell this winter, this is your go to!

Great Ski Shell

The Sabre LT is a solid Ski shell. The C-Knit backer gives the jacket some stretch and keeps it quiet. Sizing on this jacket is a little different. I am a Medium in almost every shirt and jacket regardless of brand. I had to go with a Small in this jacket and it still seemed on the larger side so I would recommend sizing down.

The Pockets of Plenty Pow Surfer Jacket

i've used this jacket in fairly harsh weather and the big attraction I have to this jacket is the light weight combined with all the storage that it has to offer. This jacket has an arm pocket, a chest pocket, two interior pockets, but the best pocket of all are those rib pockets on the front of the jacket. They are in the perfect spot to rest your arms and they are huge so you read more can put almost anything a skier would need on a day out. The jacket fits large compared to other jackets especially to the typical fit I have come to expect from Arc'teryx so if you like a tighter fit you may want to size down, but if you like a baggy fit i'd recommend getting your normal size. If you consider that this is really a ski jacket that can function as a multipurpose jacket this is a pretty impressive product and one of the best pieces i've seen from Arc'teryx to date.

Quality piece

Well thought out design, features pit zips, powder skirt and a hood with ample room for a helmet. This big mountain shell worked out great in the resort and the back country. Fit felt a little more relaxed than the rush shell. Would highly recommend!

Sabre LT= "lightweight"

This jacket is unreal. Taking the already incredible Sabre and giving it the brother version that is the ultimate Big Mountain jacket. Pit zips, Storm hood, and powder skirt making you focus on your line and not on the cold or severe weather around you. With this freestyle touring designed option, you will never look back. coming in at just over 1lb of bombproof goretex and the read more aesthetic of a lion. Don't miss out on this opportunity to rip lines in style with the longer length (31.5 inches) of this jacket!

1st Impressions are important

So far I really like this jacket! The longer fit of the LT version is exactly what I've been looking for in a resort and backcountry jacket. The Sabre uses a bit heavier "feeling" goretex which is nice as it makes it feel close and doesn't flap in the wind. Also not as noisy as a bag of chips at 3 am. Pocket layout is what I was looking for with the drop pocket inside, external read more chest pocket and high sitting waist pockets. I've taken it out for 3 short tours so far, 2 in cold temps and today in the rain. I felt totally protected and dry. The pit zips felt easier to use than on my Rush jacket. I highly suggest this jacket for taller folks or those with longer torsos.

Gave as a gift

I gave this to my boyfriend, a big Arcteryx fan, as a gift for winter skiing and touring. He absolutely loves this jacket. He says it's true to fit, as he's 6'2" and 170lbs and wears a size medium. Be careful with some of the Arcteryx jackets because it depends on the cut, and sometimes he's a size large. :) He loves the material of this jacket, feels like it can withstand any read more weather and keep him dry and warm. It's also very easy to layer a puffy jacket or vest underneath this for skiing in colder temperatures or when you're transitioning at the top of a touring lap. There is a zipper pocket on the upper arm that's perfect for a ski pass or some chapstick. Outer pockets have fully taped seams, and inner zippered pocket is great for a phone.
