December 26, 2020Super warm, form fitting
Bought this for a base layer skiing and stayed warm with it over a long sleeve Capilene shirt and Spyder insulated jacket over top when it was -20 wind chill at the top of the mountain. XL fit great (6’5” / 220lbs), plenty long in the torso and arms and snug enough to be out of the way without being too tight.

December 20, 2019Another Arcteryx Masterpiece
This is a true base layer. Wear it next to skin for optimal effect. The high elastane (spandex) content makes it really stretchy and allows great motion. For cold weather, layer over with a fleece mid. Also, it’s quite long in the body if you choose to tuck it in. Looks great under a shell too. Note well: it won’t hide any rolly-poly areas if you catch my drift. I wear… read more it in XL and I’m 6’3 and 195 lbs.

March 21, 2019Great Lt. Wt. 1/4 zip.
In a sea of sameness the bonded pocket and attention to detail makes this stand out. As always Arcteryx delivers top quality

December 26, 2018A little thicker for those colder days
I haven't been able to use this for my intended use yet, really cold trail running, but have been really happy with how warm this has been on hikes and ski tours so far! I have hiked in the Rho LT in a snow storm in the 20's with just a light tech t underneath, and although I did sweat a bit I was nice and toasty on the downhill. The brushed fleece on the inside of the Rho lt… read more is so comfortable. I went with the medium for a trim fit, but could have easily have went with the large. My only nit pick is that the pocket is so small, it would be great to fit my phone in but right now its just good for lip balm. Overall a great layer, and I cant wait to use it for winter trail running in the teens and below!

March 24, 2018It's Arc'teryx!
Plain simple, these are an amazing base layer! I have 3 different colors and I wear them all the time! Obviously not all at the same time but like I said they're amazing! I've worn these as a base layer or just stand alone in cool temperatures and have never been cold. They're a great quality and I'm definately happy with the 3 I've purchased. They're even better when you catch… read more them on sale.

January 7, 2018The best
This is the best base layer on the market. I have now purchased multiple sets of the Rho LT and use it for cold weather running, skiing, and any activity where I am sweating and it’s cold. You are seriously not going to go wrong here.

November 8, 2017Best Base Layer
Fit's true to size with a bias toward an athletic cut. I have a couple of these and wear them weekly for dawn patrol ski tours and evening mountain biking. This is the best base layer on the market.

This base layer is great! Super comfortable and looks awesome. It is stretchy but also warm. I bought it in two different colors!

December 21, 2016Arc'teryx speaks for itself!!!
Not much I can say when it comes to Arc'teryx the name speaks for its self. Best fitting base layer. Comfy and stretches to allow optimal movement. super warm. worth every penny.

February 28, 2016The best base layer
This is my go to base layer when I am out skiing. It is super warm and is cut longer so that I can tuck it into my long underwear. It is a little too warm for winter trail running unless the temperature is well below zero, but it works perfectly as a base layer for touring when I don't want to layer up.

November 5, 2011Rho LT top - not perfect
Picked this up on SAC a while ago. I like the Powerflex Fabric. It stretches well and has good warmth for the weight in dry conditions (see below). I have two quibbles with the Rho LT, however. First, the shirt is short. While it has the no-lift gusset design, the hem of the shirt is already above my belt-line, so unless I'm wearing bibs (and I am, usually), my waist gets… read more exposed. It fits well in other dimensions - sleeve length, chest size - but the torse is just too short for me. Second, the fabric is slow to wick. On a skin track, I sweat. The Rho soaks through quickly, rather than transporting moisture for evaporation. That makes for a cold panda when skinning gives way to making turns. I've never given an Arcteryx item three stars before, but it seems the Rho LT top was just not made for me. I've started switching to merino and I've found that I'm comfortable in a wider range of temperatures and moisture levels in wool than in the Rho LT. Perhaps the Rho LTW would be a worthy upgrade.

One of the best Arc'teryx items I own. Great stretch and give in movement. Im 6'1 165lbs, 33 inch sleeve and I went with a large. Went up to an XL and was alittle loose in the chest and mid back

October 25, 2010like an old blanket
........but doesnt fit like a blanket; standard fit. like most Arc products this a high quality piece of gear. Super warm, super soft next to skin. I would not recommend this for use over 32dF, high aerobic activity, its just too warm. my primary uses are back country winter hiking in WVA and long cold days on the lifts as a baselayer. with the discontinued colors on sale, I will… read more be purchasing another.

July 9, 2010TIGHT!!!
Another excellent item from Arcteryx , quality of workmanship and fabric is 5*. I am always in between sizes with their products, "L" tops are always slightly too big. However LT Zip is almost too tight! I am 5.10 and ~ 185 and this top is like second skin. I don't understand Arcteryx's sizing, total lack of consistency.

December 29, 2009Good, but there are better/cheaper options
I have had this for about a year. I am 6' 205#s and the xl is pretty snug. As a baselayer it does it's job. I would call this medium weight. That being said, I just got the Stoic merino wool zip neck and I like it better and it's cheaper. Also, I don't know how to explain this, but the material of the Rho snags on dry skin, no big deal, but unpleasant.

November 22, 2009o.k. base layer
If color is imperative then this will work fine. Just o.k. in the warmth and wicking department. The Arcteryx LTW with real merino wool smokes this and fits a ton better too. Have owned several LT and LTW tops. If you work hard as a skier on back country hikes to get to your stash or skinning the LTW will dry way quicker and is warmer in a good way. Seems to regulate your body… read more heat better. I'm 5'11 162-165 with long arms and broader shoulders. I order large in base layers and medium in outer. The LTW stretches and hugs your body better. The neck on the LTW isn't sloppy like the current LT. Had LT's before and the cut seemed to be better than the current issue.

August 29, 2009Great!
Just got one of these, and the fit and quality are typical of arcteryx (better than pretty much anyone else). The material is quite light, but provides a fair bit of warmth. Likely to be a bit too hot if you are really working. Does not bind under other jackets. beware, the size chart is a bit misleading, as I would personally go for the next larger size than what is recommended,… read more especially if you are tall. I have a 38 chest, so I ordered the small, which felt like it was painted on and did not even cover my belly button.
