like wearing a cloud

I LOVE my Atom LT. I got it as an option for lightweight insulation on hikes and outdoor climbs for when it gets colder out. It keeps me warm without making me overheat, it's crazy lightweight, I can move easily in it, and the hood fits perfectly over a helmet. I will most likely be using this as a midlayer for ski season as well. It is also soooo soft. So far it's been the perfect read more midlayer/shoulder season jacket. I have muscular shoulders and the medium is a tinyyy bit tight, but not enough that it made me want to size up.

We'll see...used to be perfect

I had the first gen Atom LT purchased in '08/'09. 11+ years later, I am still wearing this jacket. Been through EVERYTHING. Backpacking, mountain biking, lounging every night, international travel, oceans, mountains...I wore it practically every day with barely any wear. I loved it so much, I sold at least 15-20 of my closest friends and family on this jacket. However 7-8 years read more in, over time the jacket insulation did start getting too thin to keep this lady warm and I had to get a small zipper malfunction fixed. So, I decided to replace it over time with two more Atom LT's -- one in 2016 and one in 2018. BOTH had the same issues develop in less than a month wearing them. First issue: the cuff opened a hole near the thumb area -- on BOTH jackets in the same amount of time. Never happened to my first Atom. Second, the material Arcteryx start using wears much faster -- it pills up ever so slightly and shows it/looks worn (gross). One of these also melted on the bottom edge being nearby a fire which was never an issue with my first one even though I'd camp many times. Definitely a lesser material then what Arcteryx used to use. Now 2020...I'm trying the new revised Atom. We'll see how it turns out. I'm hopeful it will be better than my last two, but doubtful it will come close to the performance of my first one. Three stars out of five.

Cute, Comfortable Lightweight Jacket

This is the third jacket I have purchased since 2011. It is by far my favorite jacket, especially for cool evenings and during the winter season. I purchased my most recent jacket specifically for the bright color to attract attention on my outdoor walks. You won’t be disappointed.

Wanted to love

I really like how this jacket fit and how warm yet thin the material is. This would have been perfect for hiking as it is incredibly light and packable and has sleeves that secure around the wrists. However, there is no lining and the material felt too much like crinkly plastic against my skin which combined with its lack of breathability honestly made me feel like a walking bag read more of chips. Super bummed hoping I can find a jacket from this company that has a softer interior.

My new go-to

I am in love with this jacket. I chose to get the black Atom to be more versatile through the years and I'm happy I did. I've used this jacket as a mid-layer for cold snowboarding days, and then dressed it up with a nice scarf when I'm out and about. It's decently warm on it's own, which is super nice - I've worn it when temperatures are fairly low, but not below freezing. I read more love it. I feel bad for my other jackets because this is turning into my favorite.

New Arc Fan

This is my first Arc'teryx Jacket and I am happy with it so far. I am usually a small but I sized up to layer underneath and the medium fits great. It is a great midlayer that seem breathable and the fit is flattering. It is soft and comfortable and I think it'll be a staple for outdoor activities in the Spring/Fall and under my shell for skiing in the Winter.

Love Arcteryx!

I was surprised that this fit pretty flawlessly. Normally as a petite 5'3 something is always a little too long. but the sleeve were great and the length hit the hip great! Definitely a light jacket but it would absolutely be great for layering. I have a dog and I dragged it around the desert and it held up pretty good.

Sad they changed it

Yes, it's a great jacket, but the old version with stretchy side panels was superior. The cut was more versatile, and with the stretch panels, it was easy to layer up underneath (but then fitting better without layers underneath). The new version has stiff side panels and a smaller cut. It's shorter and tighter across the bust/shoulders. Can't layer underneath unless you size up. read more I'm majorly bummed with this redesign because the old version was truly GOAT. Sad I lost my old one (which was showing no wear despite being worn all winter for 4 years).

Classic

This jacket has worked its way into becoming a classic mid-layer. And, it's still as good as ever, if not better! It has a minimalist fit and weight, so perfect to not only layer in the outdoors, but lends itself to being a comfortable indoor piece in the winter. The other cool part of this piece is it's breathability. It will wick the sweat you kick up, hauling yourself up a read more mountain, while also keeping you warm. It's pretty dang magical. I'm normally a medium and this is spot on. It's actually even flattering, which is always a win in my book.
