Arc'teryx Alpha SL Glove reviews and deals for sale

From summiting mountains with your skis on your back to scaling frozen waterfalls, the Arc'teryx Alpha SL Glove offers the dexterity and performance you need for technically demanding ascents. Made from Gore Windstopper material, this glove completely blocks wind and resists water to keep your hands warm and dry during high-aerobic ascents. A fleece lining traps body heat for light warmth, and leather reinforcements give the palm and fingers a good grip, so you'll be able to hold everything from an ice axe to ski poles with confidence. Designed with a next-to-skin fit, these gloves offer a highly dexterous feel, while a pulley adjustment system locks the glove to your hand to maximize fit and stability.

Very versatile light weight gloves.

These gloves have been nice to have while doing anything that requires dexterity. They are not the warmest gloves however they are good base gloves for use under my OR firebrand mitts or gloves. I can drop the thick layer and get behind a rifle or do more technical mountaineering tasks while avoiding contact frostbite in most situations. This is my second pair and the longevity read more was ok however I abused the gloves on a 3 month ski mountaineering course. The seams never busted however I wore holes in a couple fingers from firearms manipulation and rope work. If you maintain the leather properly they should last you a long time. These gloves along with my RHO beanie go with me everywhere, they fit in a jacket pocket and are great every day use items that don't bulk up pockets.

Great ice climbing glove for warmer temp

Great gloves for temps between mid 20s and up ... great dexterity - pretty durable. Obviously, your tolerance might be different - it is definitely very light glove with only light insulation on the back of the hand. Fit is similar to Rab m14 gloves but with a little longer fingers. The only complaint would be that once they are wet they will transfer a lot of black color to your read more skin... For the glove from arcteryx I would have expected better color durability... Also if you happen to be a photographer its thin enough to operate all the camera controls.

They're okay

If you want a really expensive leather palmed glove that fit great go for it. However do not expect these to keep you warm for ice climbing, they are a tight fit and pretty comfortable, just not warm.

A little cold

I bought these for my husband to use ice climbing. He bought the mediums which were a tight fit but since they are leather they are stretching out to fit to his hands. He says they are cold when just wearing out on walks (to break them in) but there is a small amount of padding in them which helps a little bit.

Great gloves but ...

I love these gloves, super comfortable, well made but I would not use them for ice climbing or any activity with extended exposure to freezing temperatures. They get cold fairly quick. You can fit a thin layer underneath them but it impacts the mobility slightly and the mobility is one of the best features. The seams lined up perfectly with my nail beds so I had to trim down read more the seams slightly; some of the seems had hard areas where multiple layers and stitching met.
